DiBella finally admitted he was let go from PBC for trying to use Wilder to leverage a deal for DiBella promotions with DAZN. Skipper admitted they went behind Haymon's & Finkell's back to try and steal Wilder and got read the riot act by Finkell & Haymon.
Skipper didn't know Finkell but he knew Haymon from his days at ESPN when PBC was doing the time buys. Skipper has always thought he was smarter than Haymon. Even when he was proven wrong about the time buys

We've seen Haymon willing to work with other networks to make the Wilder fight (Fury vs Wilder) but that was gone about the correct way. Arum speaking to Wilder and willing to do a joint deal, not a deal that only helps ESPN. This fight helps PBC/FOX/ESPN/Top Rank. AJ vs. Wilder on DAZN only helps DAZN.
You're a fool if you think PBC is going up give up it's biggest asset without any benefit from it and if this were any other company besides PBC everybody would understand. Even though Crawford's PPV numbers aren't that good and Errol is doing more than double Crawford's numbers you wouldn't expect a Fox only Spence vs Crawford PPV. I know you wouldn't because I've seen people say it over and over again "Why does Crawford have to go to PBC to get the fight" But because it's PBC people switch up.
So you won't see any PBC fighters on DAZN unless it's a purse bid. DAZN already tried to go behind Haymon's back so why should he help them when they weren't trying to work with him? You're crazy if you expect PBC to give DAZN any type of help.
“In retrospect, I was too brash going in there without creating the relationships I needed to create with the people who advised Deontay Wilder. I have now worked to do that. It has to do with going back to the education I needed before getting into boxing ?When we left that (Wilder) meeting, I knew we messed up and that we weren’t going to be successful.
“We were impatient, and after having some early success, we wanted to move quickly. Now I understand that I’ve got to work relationships, work within a framework and understand other peoples?self-interests and needs as well ?If I had to do it again, I’d have gone in and said, ‘I’m playing the long game.?I’m playing the long game with Canelo and GGG, too.?

A private media session recently took place with Mark Lazarus, Sean McManus, John Skipper, and Eric Shanks, the Heads of Sports from CBS, ESPN, Fox, and NBC, discuss the future of broadcast sports in a session moderated by Richard Deitsch, Senior Editor, Sports Illustrated.
During the session, the executives were asked about Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions series - which now appear on CBS/Showtime, NBC/NBC Sports, Spike TV and ESPN/ABC via time-buy agreements.
JOHN SKIPPER - ESPN
Last time I checked my XY-axis quadrant, it’s not in the right quadrant.

It’s impossible to assess the importance of this deal without also considering the broader landscape, and the way the world changed as a result of Haymon and the PBC.
The fact that ESPN would suddenly show an interest in a sport that it fled a few years ago emanates directly from the ratings that it, Fox, CBS and NBC did from their PBC time-buy shows. When Haymon gave ESPN some of his top names in his first year out of the gate, the shows garnered audiences of more than 1 million. When the talent fell off in year two, the ratings were cut in half.
“I think the PBC experiment taught us one thing: That like so many other sports, it’s about quality,?Magnus said. “Get good fights, get good games and people watch. It’s no different than college football or ‘Monday Night Football?or the NBA. People will watch good games and good teams, and you’ll have a harder time when the quality is not there.
“I don’t have a bad word to say about [the PBC]. They rekindled our interest in the category because we saw what was possible when you had really good fights on broader platforms.?/b>
