Putting Golovkin's name in the same sentence with Mayweather is an insult to boxing

And my impression is that he probably is going to shortly if a fight with Martinez or Quillin doesn't materialize.

No way in the world this highly skilled boxer should have taken the leather he took against Rosado. For anyone saying GGG can box, he hasn't proved it once. Being able to box means being in there with somebody who can laugh at the punches you land and keep coming forward. I've yet to see GGG get on his bike, pick his spots, effectively counter-punch, and win a fight from the outside over the course of 12 rounds.
Good points about zab. My contention is that if you want to beat floyd get Meldrick taylor or sweet pea. Bringer suggested Vernon forrest and winky and I think he has a point there too.

Not 1 punch ko guys, multi skilled fighters with either great speed, great defense, or a great jab. Its gonna take between 12-15 rds to beat floyd.

off topic, but IMO zab is thebiggest watse of talent ever, if he had a work ethic he'd have beaten floyd, kosta and everyone else.

Watch the first minute of rd 1 and the blueprint to beat GGG is right there.
In that first minute Macklin moved pretty good and was making GGG miss.
And Macklin is not even a great boxer. Watch it and imagine that being Floyd.

Floyd would be to fast for GGG to catch. Just a punchers chance.

What exactly had Canelo or Victor Ortiz accomplished? I agree some others have better professional resumes (few have been better in the amateurs), but Floyd hasn't exactly always chosen his opponents based on that. You also can't entirely blame Golovkin for the guys he's fought since all indications are that he has been avoided by a number of fighters. He''l likely have to move up soon to fight more credible opposition.

My feeling is that GGG poses the biggest challenge to Floyd that is a somewhat realistic possibility given that just fought a guy who is about the same size. It's unlikely to happen, but it doesn't mean I don't think it would be interesting.

            LOL.

Shall we also post the first round where Zab judah owned Floyd or where Canelo also did a good job boxing with Floyd?

1 round and you think you have a fighter figured out... LOL.

everytime a real challenge comes along !!!! here comes mayweather fans trying to downplay that persons accomplishments ,, as a reason for mayweather not to fight that person !!!

paul williams - oh hes too big for mayweather hes not well known

ggg - hes too big even though mayweather is fighting at 154

pac - hes on hbo , he wants too much money

sergio at 154 - oh sergios too hurt that fight does nothing for mayweathers career

as a unbiased boxing fan i want mayweather to fight ggg !!!! if mayweather is the best as his fans claim he should prove it and stop ducking and dodging !!!! he had a chance to fight morales but ducked , margarito but ducked , clottey but ducked and the list goes on !!!!!!!!!!

I see why you may think that, but Macklin wasn't doing much except jabbing and (mostly) missing. I certainly think Floyd has a better chance of keeping Golovkin off of him though. Golovkin usually does an excellent job of adjusting and cutting off the ring in response to such tactics, although I definitely think Floyd could beat him. What also helps Golovkin in these situations is that he has a very good and powerful jab himself.

I never said I would favor Golovkin against Floyd just that he would likely be the biggest challenge available for the time being.

Didn't Rosado only land like 20% of his punches against Golovkin, while Golovkin landed around 50% of his? It also does look like Golovkin was sick in the immediate run-up to that fight, so we may want to take that into account. He still won handily regardless of that though.

I agree that Golovkin doesn't have the most impressive pro career yet, but I think that is in large part due to a lack of opportunity. I may be wrong, but I think he will prove his worth in the coming years.
Still has yet to prove he can box. Everything he's done has been through brute force. If he's as good a boxer as you say he is, then Rosado [a naturally smaller, non-champion] wouldn't have touch him up as much as he did.

I was only talking about GGG and his aggressive style.
It would would play right into Floyds hands.

Judah was a southpaw who was fast and had good boxing skills.
                    Different type of fighter.

Also remember Floyd hasn't had trouble with a southpaw since that fight.
He fights them much better now. Ask Ortiz and Guerrero

One fighter used movement against GGG; Rosado and he made him look very ordinary at times.

The guy wouldn't lay a damn glove on Floyd despite the size difference.

GGG has to be the most overrated fighter ever on this board, hes not done a damn thing. Until he proves himself against decent opposition hes another David Lemieux in my eyes.
