Putting Golovkin's name in the same sentence with Mayweather is an insult to boxing

It wasn't meant to be a joke. It's a transcription of Rosado's thoughts at that moment.

Funny isn't it? One would almost think Floyd was never an up and comer. Why all the hate on Golovkin? You don't like him? - don't watch him fight. You think he's rubbish? - don't watch him fight.

What are you expecting to achieve though? This is an internet discussion forum, yet the sole point of this 'discussion' thread appears to be to suggest that there should be no discussion.

Why not campaign to ban GGG from boxing if you find him so offensive. Start a petition or something. The thread title itself is contradictory and self defeating, since not only does it mention FMJ and GGG in the same sentence, it encourages others to do so.

For what it's worth, even Floyd Sr thinks GGGs too big, though at 154 I think it's a good fight. At 160, Floyd gets beat. Floyd is not as naive as many of his fans. He knows he is human, and like any fighter, he knows that no-one, himself included, is invincible.

GGG will be beaten, if he goes on fighting long enough. So will Floyd. The mere fact that they are both fighters and both champions alone negates any foolish statements like that of the TS. You may have your beliefs but that does not make them true, nor do they invalidate the beliefs of others.

You think Floyd wipes the floor with the consensus top MW - well then, campaign for it to happen, Tweet Floyd, Email him, camp outside his house. Surely a belt at 160 is just the thing to cement his legacy if it's as easy as you say.

Ouma have Golovkin hell, I'd pick him in his prime to beat him easy.

Damn, beat me to the punch.

But anybody that thinks Golovkin is some elite, high end 'technician' i would highly recommend watching his fight with Ouma. His performance in that bout, makes Arturo Gatti look like a prime Sweet Pea. He was absolutely dumbfounded and outclassed and outfought for the majority of the bout by a guy who even at his best was a C-level boxer, and had lost something like 5 out of his previous 7 bouts coming into his fight with GGG. I've never seen Canelo in any of his bouts, look anywhere near as vulnerable as GGG did in his fight with Ouma. I almost can't think of a more useless fight than matching this hypejob up with Floyd. A weakened 154 lb. version at that.

Golovkin, skillset wise is B-level. But has A+ level power. Sergio from the Chavez Jr. fight on back would unquestionably mop the floor with Golovkin. He's a southpaw like Ouma. And has a very similar style. But is superior to Ouma in every single facet of boxing. I think prime Pavlik beats him as well.

Why do people do this pick out a fight years ago like these boxers are machines ? So I guess they can't get better? Nobody said GGG is the greatest ... how about I say Mayweather struggled a bit against Agustus in a entertaning fight or even against small little Jesus Chavez who leaderman had up a round going to the 8th or the first fight against Castillo who many thought he loss smh it happens great fighters especially all time great fighters get in a zone everything clicks ... you bringing up the ouma fight is ridiculous ouma actually stayed in the hospital for 2 days also gave golovkin the sense of here can't over power every time he actually jabs more and moves back better feet work and better spacing he hit his zone .. then you bring up Sergio Martinez will mop him lol I love Sergio did great for the sport but to think he will mop GGG is ridiculous Sergio is a small middleweight was blasted by margarito at 147 oh but I guess Martinez got better but GGG can't? Sergio struggled was pushed back against Darren barker and Macklin slow footed slow one handed fighter pavlik gave him hell until last rounds if you think golovkin its not way better than those guys you are then silly and a "hater"..... mop him? Smh would have been entertaining fight tho

I didn't think Matthysse deserved the hype but I think GGG does. He has a substantial amateur background and beat Bute and Dirrell. I don't he will have have a "oh damn he got exposed moment". It's going to take a superior fighter like Ward to have a shot of beating GGG

Other power punchers like Maidana, Matthysse, Ortiz, Thurman, Berto, Quillin, and Angulo have all fought a number of former world champions. Golovkin's only experience with a world champ was Kasim Ouma? I understand that BS about other title holders not giving him a shot, but for Fck sakes he can still fight a former world champ. If he's this killer that people are making him out to be then why doesn't he fight a former world champ at 168 or drop down to 154 and fight one there? There's a difference between fighting a former world champ and a faded contender. Former world champs are usually great at exposing flaws and pulling veteran moves that make it uncomfortable for up and comers. I actually put Keith Thurman above Golovkin. At least Thurman has beaten the likes of Quintana and Zaveck. It's an insult that Golovkin is mentioned in the same sentence as Floyd. That guy has done nothing to deserve a fight with Mayweather. He's just hunting down contenders that have been stopped before to make his power seem unbelievable. This Stevens guy he's fighting is a nobody as well and he's not even world class. Step it up Golovkin....
I guess that's what we can expect from a Ortiz nuthugger. GGG's power is untested but he dispatched of Macklin in 3 rounds, that's 8 rounds quicker than Martinez. Also Macklin arguably beat Sturm, fight was close enough to go either way so he's a championship level fighter. Ishida is a former champ as well (and had never been stopped before). How the **** you want him to step it up when promoters go on record saying they don't wanna put their guys in the ring with him? The whole post is ignorant from start to finish.
