Golovkin's only experience with a world champ was Kasim Ouma? I understand that BS about other title holders not giving him a shot, but for Fck sakes he can still fight a former world champ. If he's this killer that people are making him out to be then why doesn't he fight a former world champ at 168 or drop down to 154 and fight one there? There's a difference between fighting a former world champ and a faded contender. Former world champs are usually great at exposing flaws and pulling veteran moves that make it uncomfortable for up and comers. I actually put Keith Thurman above Golovkin. At least Thurman has beaten the likes of Quintana and Zaveck. It's an insult that Golovkin is mentioned in the same sentence as Floyd. That guy has done nothing to deserve a fight with Mayweather. He's just hunting down contenders that have been stopped before to make his power seem unbelievable. This Stevens guy he's fighting is a nobody as well and he's not even world class. Step it up Golovkin....

We don't know because he keeps fighting JMW's and borderline contenders at '60 that he repeatedly walks down and beats up. I posted in another thread, because he's so grossly overmatched, why not carry his opponent a few rounds and show his ability to box and lure them in so he can counter. Utilize the ring a little give the audience a glimpse of how good his footwork is moving backward and laterally?

Right, but Rosado was campaigning at JMW going into the GGG bout. He passed up an opportunity at K9's title in hopes of "shocking the world" going up to GGG's neighborhood, instead.
GGG is trying to gain popularity through the KO. I'm pretty sure his promoter, his trainer, and Gennady himself have said this. It seems to be working actually.

I think his amateur career speaks to his boxing abilities, but I don't think we'll see them fully on display until he fights someone like like Quillin or a Martinez or maybe even a SMW. I think he's going to focus on the KO or imposing his power unless he determines it isn't going to work.

Do you always have to be great at fighting backwards to be considered successful or a really good fighter? I agree I'd like to see more, but I think guys like Rosado and Macklin have been decent opposition. He dispatched them with relative ease (he also looks to have been sick before the Rosado fight). Macklin arguably beat Sturm (who was competitive with Murray and Geale as well) and put on a solid performance against Martinez, so I do think the manner in which he beat him was impressive regardless of whether or not he fought backwards or laterally.

I stopped reading after the 1st sentence. You don't **** about boxing if you think all golovkin has is power. You don't go 300+ wins in the amateur without boxing skills.

I don't know why people wan't mayweather to fight GGG tho. It's clearly not realistic given the division they are fighting at. GGG is too damn big for mayweather.
Based on that, we should never hear Floyd mentioned with the likes of Duran, Leonard, hearns, etc.

Okay, 300 amateur fights are impressive but it doesn't justify how he hasn't fought at a world class level in the pros. He's done NOTHING to get a fight with Mayweather. You don't know **** about boxing if you don't understand that fighting former world champs is important in the development of a fighter just as an amateur background is.
How many former champs did Floyd fight before genaro?

You don't have to highlight any excuses for the Rosado fight. The guy you want to test himself against GGG, yeah he's had all kinds of issues in fights himself and still finds a way to dominate (even had a cold for the Cotto bout, reported by Rafael) -- let it go.

Decent opposition is all nice and dandy if one is looking to pad their record. But as far as them proving they're worth they hype, decent opposition won't cut it. So if they want to keep building their popularity by KO'ing decent opposition, they're just setting themselves up to be Matthysse'd.

Wanna actually comment on what I said instead of avoiding it? Or not got anything of value to say?

              Thought so.

GGG also did beat down Rosado anyway and apparently had something worse than a cold in the run-up, but as you said it doesn't really matter.

We'll see what happens in the next few years. I and many others look to be more impressed with GGG's whole body of work thus far (including the amateurs) than you. I may be wrong, but I do think GGG is a talent.

It's true, however at least he dominated his opposition and hadn't proven to suck like the guy in your avatar. Once again, the guy has never beaten a top tenner at a regulation weight in 4 tries. He needed a CW to score his only top ten win, across 2 divisions! He must be the teflonest guy in boxing.
