There is fcuk all difference between the middleweight killer Golovkin beating Geale at 160..... than the obviously not-middleweight Cotto beating him at catchweight. There is fcuk all difference there.
And I think you really are missing the point here.....
That example was made to show how poor Golovkins resume is..... Cotto's does not have to be better, or even equal..... just close.
So, let me get this technically correct for you, so that I can laugh at Golovkins resume with a clear conscience......
Despite not being a genuine middleweight, and despite only fighting at MW for just a few months..... Cotto - IF he beats Geale - will have a win under his belt that is nearly as good as Golovkins..... and this is despite Golovkin a) being a genuine middleweight b) fighting at 160 for 9 years c) being this supposed killer.....
Surely you can see the point ?
ALL I am saying is this..... Golovkin fanboys shouldnt knock Cotto for taking a deserved payday with Mayweather/Canelo..... when their guy hasnt done shht, and is attempting to do THE EXACT SAME THING at 168, with Froch.
If Cotto " MUST " fight Golovkin after Canelo...... then Golovkin " MUST " fight Ward after Froch..... you do get that right?Originally posted by jorgepichardojr View PostIt will prove that he can beat a 175 fighter I fight night who is in good fighting health and is decently skilled. We all know geale is coming into the ring around 175 even is own trainer said so. So the only thing the 157 catch weight prevents is cotto having to fight a 180+ pounder on fight night. So what's your beef. If you ask me that proves a lot more than nothing.
Whatever weight Geale comes in at, he will have had to boil himself down to 157 for the weigh in, and that will affect his performance.
If the CW wasn't important, why did Cotto insist on having it before agreeing to fight Geale?
Until he fights and beats a top 160lb fighter, at 160lbs, Cotto is a paper champion and a pretender at MW.Last edited by kafkod; 05-28-2015, 07:43 AM.
