But here's a question for the logical boxing fan ; since Cotto is saying in this thread that he has nothing to prove to Canelo or GGG which most likely is coded language for saying he's not gonna fight those guys , who does he plan to fight ? He just signed a multi-year 55 million dollar deal that probably has 4 , 5 , or 6 fights signed to it . Is his fan base really that loyal that they don't mind watching him fight tomato's 5 or 6 fights in a row till his contract is satisfied ? I'm a Floyd fan , but if he doesn't fight Kahn , Thurman , Brook or Canelo again I'm not buying the fight as I do like to see him challenged

He and Canelo will fight. Golovkin is an exciting fighter but he has not earned a Cotto fight, IMO. Gennady refuses to fight anyone of substance. There are legit guys ready and willing to fight him but he insists on fighting fringe contenders and then demand big money fights.

For all the hate Khan receives for this very same tactic, Golovkin is worse..

Geale is soft competition at any weight , and I don't give a damn what his ranking is . Geale isn't better than Curtis Stevens , Monroe or Gabe Rosado , period ! Cotto is currently perpetrating a complete fraud to the world of boxing . He is an illusion wrapped in a masquerade , d****d in an inigma . Who is the real Cotto ? The real Cotto is the guy we saw get dominated by Trout . His fight against Martinez was a sham as Martinez either threw that fight or truly had a crippling leg injury which he knew would prevent him from winning . That last guy who Cotto KOed was a taxi cab driver I think . Hopefully he's out of rabbits feet as au****ious circumstances seem to follow his career . Even Mayweather helped him look good by choosing to stay on the ropes to make the bout seem competitive . Cotto seems to constantly be able to reinvigorate himself as a formittable top notch guy , and frankly it's sickening . He so reminds me of that Japanese food engineering program where they found a way to convert fecses into edible food . I pray Geale's lack luster azz can expose him , but I doubt he can as he's just a tomato .

I honestly believe that when a fighter reaches a point in his career where he is "satisfied" and no longer believes that he has anything left to prove in the sport,he should just retire. What's going on here is cotto living off of things that he did years ago,and using his veteran status to try and bully newer fighters. The honest fact of the matter is that cotto gets stopped by both GGG,and canelo, and he will use every advantage he's got (catch weight,fight at Madison square gardens,demand larger split of the purse) in order to make the fights more difficult to happen. Meanwhile he's fighting the guy that GGG demolished inside of 3 rounds,and he's acting like if bringing the guy down to a catchwieght,while being the lineal champ is perfectly normal. If you don't want to test yourself anymore,just vacate the belt and retire.

All I've been hearin lately is 'Sure, GGG can fight Cotto/Canelo after they fight' which of course got postponed so that Cotto can fight Geale, 'He's too big for Mayweather', 'Too big a risk for Froch', Quillin is babblin some nonsense about he vs GGG could be on par with May-Pac eventually (****in lol), and Ward was talking all that good **** a year ago about he he wanted to fight GGG and now he's just gotta get in a few tune up fights first and maybe next year GGG will be worth mentioning. GTFOH.

GGG is being ducked harder by some of these guys than Amir Khan has been ducking Kell Brook.

No, you should stop trying to insinuate that there is a big difference.

There is fcuk all difference between the middleweight killer Golovkin beating Geale at 160..... than the obviously not-middleweight Cotto beating him at catchweight. There is fcuk all difference there.

That example was made to show how poor Golovkins resume is..... Cotto's does not have to be better, or even equal..... just close.

So, let me get this technically correct for you, so that I can laugh at Golovkins resume with a clear conscience......

Despite not being a genuine middleweight, and despite only fighting at MW for just a few months..... Cotto - IF he beats Geale - will have a win under his belt that is nearly as good as Golovkins..... and this is despite Golovkin a) being a genuine middleweight b) fighting at 160 for 9 years c) being this supposed killer.....
