Comments Thread For: Cotto: I Have Nothing To Prove To Canelo or Golovkin

Los Angeles - WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KO’s) is very focused on the first defense of his world title, which he is scheduled to make against former two-time world champion Daniel Geale (31-3, 16 KO’s) of Australia on June 6th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn in a headline bout televised live on HBO.

Cotto has two potential opponents in the aftermath of this contest.

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin is the mandatory challenger by way of capturing the WBC interim-title. The most lucrative, and most likely opponent, is Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Cotto should just try to take his payday against Floyd and ride off into the sunset with another couple millions.

He won't win more than 2 rounds but his fans won't be reluctant to call it a "competitive" one again.

You don't have to prove nothing to anyone but Canelo has to be next after Geale. GGG can fight the winner. Might have to wait still Cuz I doubt the winner goes straight after Golovkin but Canelo and GGG have to be in the future plans.

Geale will beat Cotto and make it look easy.

"I don't need to prove anything. My career is already made."

                Enough said.

I don't think Cotto has anything to prove but he should defend the title against GGG if he doesn't go for the money and rematch Floyd.

canelo doesn't have to be next when canelo is not even a middleweight and canelo needs to shut up and stop thinking he's the A side he's not and better not duck a cotto fight again
