That is not true, GGG was willing to go up to 168 for froch or chavez without abandoning his "goal" of unifying the MW titles. so he was already willing to go up and come back.

That is his decision, not ward fans asking him to do what GGG fans want Ward to do.
I forgot I was dealing with The Big Dunce. Sorry for asking you to process more than one simple fact at a time. I won't do it again.

Ward's next fight is at 175...Andre fought in June on the same day David beat N'Dam but David's people actually requested this fight days after while Andre comes around in September once the rumblings about a golovkin vs lemieux fight hit a fever pitch. How convenient.

And thats where you are wrong. GGG fans dont really care one way or the other what Ward does in the meantime. If he wants to go up, fine. If he wants to fight a few more cans at 168 (or 172), fine. If he wants to sit it out and wait, thats fine too. What Ward does is irrelevant to GGG fans.

And at the time GGG was willing to do the Chavez and Froch fights, Ward was unavailable. So your point is moot. But I get where you are going. You want to think that because GGG would make a weight concession for Froch or Chavez, that should also apply to Ward or anyone else at 168. Except thats not reality. Different fights have different economic realities. The same way Ward said he would come down to 160 for Floyd, he surely would NOT do that for GGG or Andy Lee (nor should he). Different fight = different deal

thats too bad in my opinion the best fight boxing can make right now is ward vs ggg. granted ward kovalev is good too but nothing like a ggg ward fight would be. In my opinion team ggg is under estimating how big a ward ggg fight would be. it would be such a big fight every boxing fan in the world would watch that fight it would sell good on ppv and they are so good that it would be talked about on sports center and such. Oh well tho cant have it all in boxing too much politics.

I think what surprises me most is that ward and ggg fans alike are not begging for this fight. its the best fight for both guys bar none yea ggg can fight cotto and canelo and it would be entertaining but as far as legacy and how u will be remembered nothing compares to ward ggg. If ggg were to go in and beat ward he would jump so high in peoples minds he would be the p4p king and his star would be so big its unreal he would be considered unbeatable at that point I just dont get it.

Instead fans want to get into the gossip of it all talk about weigh classes belts etc i just feel like ggg should be begging for a ward fight. I mean u talk about a fight that puts him up with the all time greats there is no other possible win that would do as much. I think im just a little surprised that ggg is not begging for a ward fight the same way he did for a mayweather fight and its a shame and it sounds like hes using money as an excuse which is a shame cause i think we all hoped ggg was a throw back who would fight the best fights possible regardless of belt or money. Plus anyone who is buying that ward ggg would not be a mega fight that banks is delusional i dont care what wards ratings have been.

Oh well tho hopefully we at least get ggg canelo cause i for one could care less if ggg unifies i just want to see him fight the best. same with ward i could care less if he unifies at 168 if team ggg is going to avoid ward no matter what i hope he fights kovalev. Its just all such a shame imo and a waste of potentially 2 legends of the sport fighting in their prime and both unbeaten. I think ggg power would carry up to 168 just fine he may make 160 easy but hes no small middleweight by any means he just stays in shape. Oh well tho like a said at least we will get ward kovalev im just greedy and wanted both

No. They have been working on setting up Ward vs Kovalev, for next fall, since well before Roc sent that email to Loeffler.

Clearly, Roc didn't know what Andre was going to do and they were hedging their bets.

Exactly. GGG's situation at Middleweight has changed drastically. He now has 2 big names in his division. He is now selling out Madison Square Garden and headlining PPV fights. He's become a bigger star, pulling in bigger TV ratings, collecting bigger fight checks ect. He was willing to move up for a big fight a few years ago because AT THAT TIME he thought he to to get bigger fights, to increase his fanbase and get on PPV ect. That dynamic has clearly changed. There are big names in his division now, and he's become one of the biggest stars on HBO and already has a PPV fight and if he wins another lined up with Cotto/Canelo. He has no reason to move up to fight Ward right now. He had a reason a few years ago to move up and fight guys like Chavez/Froch/Ward but not anymore. GGG has options and all the leverage. Ward has none.

Gotta get his tune-ups in first, whether for GGG or Kovalev.
                Oh please cut the bullshit.

they are full of **** plain & simple. Ward called they're bluff & now its 164 lbs. But they'll fight the BIGGER Froch & Chavez Jr at full 168. & don't say about "a side/b side, no draw, doesn't draw etc because that was exactly the BS ya was talking about when other fighters decided not to fight lil' g. Now all ya are doing is flip flopping & moving goal posts.

That isn't true. Maybe not you, but most desperately want Kov to fight ward first. Look at the responses from the GGG fans in this thread.

We all know the economics are different. I just want GGG fans to acknowledge that he chooses money over the tougher fight and that is why whenever he can't get the fight he wants he takes on an easy KO victim.

Where ward's next fight is doesn't change the fact that GGG is afraid to fight him right now because he doesn't want to risk losing before the possible big payday with Canelo (if he beats Cotto).

That's just how I see it.

The WBC have given GGG a contract which is legally binding.

They have already had to file for bankruptcy once, after breaching a similar contract and being sued by the fighter concerned and ordered by the court to pay him $30million in compensation. They won't make a mistake like that again.

For sure, GGG will get his shot at the WBC title next year. Provided he gets past Lemieux, of course.
