Fans would rather see GGG vs Cotto/Canelo. Only a small minority of fans want him to fight Ward. And he makes more money in a fight with Cotto/Canelo then Ward. Ward simply has no leverage right now in forcing a fight with GGG. Combination of Ward struggling to make 168, long layoffs and no big fights for him at 168 means his only option for a big fight is to take the HBO deal and move up and fight Kovalev at 175. A few years ago I thought for sure GGG would have to move up to face guys like Chavez, Froch, Ward for a big fight. But now that Canelo/Cotto fell into his division he ain't going nowhere anytime soon until he forces one or both those guys to fight him. Leaves Ward shyt out of luck.
a few years ago there was no talk of GGG going anywhere. Sergio wouldn't fight him and he needed a quality opponent because everyone was ducking him. Ward was involved in a dispute, so the only discussion of him moving up were for chavez jr or froch.
I hope One Punch responds. I just wish GGG fans would remember why the Ward fight got on the radar.
No one ever asked GGG to go up and come down. GGG was prepared to go to 168t for the money in a Chavez Jr. or Froch fight and then come back down.
It is not honest to suggest Ward fans or anyone is asking GGG to do what GGG fans want Ward to do.
None of little g cheerleaders will answer not even the ringleader barcham, they talk all that stuff about Floyd doing fights the makes money sense but was still taking on best risk at the time while big upping little g trying fight froch and Chavez at 168 and going back down but soon ward came calling and won't just stand there and take punches to face its unifying mw doesn't make money sense excuse after excuse
The ward/ggg fight got on the table because GGG and his fans complained cotto and canelo wouldn't fight him. They also complained that every good opponent was ducking him.
So the ward fight solves those problems. No one is suggesting GGG come back down to fight cotto or canelo because we agree with you guys that neither will fight GGG.
SO which is it:
Cotto , Canelo and every quality opponent will not fight GGG or
GGG fans are lying about cotto, canelo, and every good opponent is ducking GGG?
I dont know why this is soooooo hard for people to understand. Loeffler has said from day 1 that their main focus was unifying 160, but if they couldnt get the other 160 champs then they would look at going outside 160 for a BIG fight. During that whole time, not a PEEP from Ward. So NOW that they got one of the champs (Lemieux) signed, and another (Cotto-Canelo winner) mandated to fight him next, here comes Ward rattling his tin cup wanting a 50-50 commitment for a fight that is probably 18 months away (Wards offer was for next fall at the earliest)
My personal belief is that should Cotto beat Canelo, he will NOT fight GGG. That being said, I understand Loeffler waiting to see who actually wins the fight, and what happens afterwards.
And sorry to break it to you, but GGG-Ward is NOT a mega fight. Its definitely a "notable" fight, but a mega-fight? please.........

The reason he was thinking about moving up for a big fight was because Sergio wouldn't fight him and there were no big names at 160. Ward would of been in the mix the moment his promotional situation was resolved. But the dynamic at 160 has since changed with big name fighters Cotto/Canelo now fighting at middleweight. GGG now has no reason to move up until he forces one or both those guys to fight him. Sucks for Ward because he has no leverage. GGG is in a much better situation then him and has no reason to move he's got a HBO contract his fights are pulling good ratings, he's now headlining his own PPV and he's got 2 big names that he is front of the line to face at middleweight in Cotto/Canelo. Ward just fought on BET for god sake after a long layoff, has never had his own PPV and has no big fights at 168.
Ward signed with Roc Nation in what Jan/Dec and that signing was supposed to get him fighting regularly and in relevant fights yet here we are in Oct and he has only fought once against a bum on BET in a fight that hardly anyone watched. He has no fights lined up to close the year either because a combination of nobody will fight him and Roc Nation is just inept at promoting and can't find him TV dates and fights. To the point where he might have to agree to fight Kovalev just to get on the undercard of a HBO PPV.
Duva said its setup to happen in fall HBO finalizing three fight deal which will include the fall ppv fight for them so I say yes it's guaranteed to happen as long as both keep winning which I don't see anybody knocking either off in meantime maybe if you stop sipping the little g koolaid going on a crusade to defend him you will see everyone around boxing including Golovkin own promoter is saying Krusher-ward happening maybe your the troll or dumb**** more then likely mixture of both
Duva did not say it was set up to happen in the fall. You start setting up a fight after a deal has been reached and signed, not before.
And again, I'm going to ask a question you brainless goons seem to have difficulty processing - if Ward vs Kovalev has been set up to happen next fall, why did Roc send Loeffler an offer for Ward to fight GGG, also next fall?

ward was out dealing with his contract, that's why you didn't hear anything. Please dude, just be honest about that.
We all agree that GGG was not going to satisfy his goal because of the reluctance of people to fight him. Once the Chavez and Froch fights didn't materialize, GGG was back to square 1-wanting a big fight, but not having a dance partner.
This is why the Ward fight was being discussed. For you to say going up and coming back is unfair-well GGG was going to do this for Chavez and Froch. Why are you acting like posters are asking him to do something he wasn't already willing to do?
I never said It was a mega fight-that is irrelevant.
As fans, what GGG wants shouldn't be our concern. I just wanted to see GGG in a competitive fight since none of the top guys at 160, either through fear or politics, wouldn't fight him.

The real question is why is Loeffler continually bringing up Ward, Cotto, and Canelo? GGG has his headliner coming up but Loeffler doesn't spend the time to hype up the PPV. All the guy ever talks about is who "won't" or "will" fight GGG and why Ward isn't a possibility. Ulterior motive? Sure, build his name off the name of others...
