Always remember this. No one can stop a guy with stature like Ward from fighting anyone he wants to. No one.
i wouldnt come to 164...i wouldnt keep begging and waisting my career either..ward is hated now..he could give these ppl hard proof that GGG is a duck and they wouldnt care..move on..its a black eye to both men's career, but one ward can afford bc he has the resume and kovalev waiting already...GGG just has a former 140lb lineal champion that is actually a jr middlweight to fight..and imo thats just not good enough...

black eye for boxing..we cant make our biggest fights until forever

I meant 6 zeros, as in millions.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake so graciously.

Correct, and that is the only reason Ward was even in the conversation. He has a good name. However lots of other people have great names and bring other things to the conversation. Andy Lee and Lemiex bring belts, Froch brings popularity, while Cotto or Canelo bring both.

Until those options are either exhausted (fights take place) or are unavailable (fighters refuse to fight GGG or retire), fight with Andre Ward does not make sense.

I don't believe either fighter is actively "ducking" or is "afraid" of one another. Ward wants to attach himself to a popular fighter in order to get back into public view.
It has taken GGG 10 years to become a main attraction, and he doesn't want to waste his precious few remaining prime years fighting for no reward. Don't forget that GGG is already 33. Miguel Cotto is only a year older and is already seen as past his prime and has talked about retiring.

Really? OK... show me a link or video where someone from Golovkin's camp states that an offer was made to Ward's camp to fight at 164 and was refused. Or that an offer was made period.

are u a manager or a fan? if he loses to ward he can go right back to 168..and if he wins the world is put on notice..if he beats froch who really cares..if that meant something ward would be the man right? stop the silliness..u mentioned andy lee in the same sentence with ward...u lost credibility right then and there..

im a floyd can i couldnt image type u a paragraph or two about why he should fight manny when they are number 1 and 2 lb for lb...

it ws not an offer it was said to rafeal in order to be repeated...if ward had no public beef with it they would probably still duck it...ward didnt bite on it..it was a statement said out of media pressure and being tired of running from ward..

At this point in time, neither. I have no interest in seeing GGG fight anyone who is not holding a middleweight title belt. Once he has unified the division, his place in boxing history will be secure and GGG should fight whoever brings the most to the table.

so as a boxing fan u're just hear for him to go down in history..wouldnt a win over ward just be so much more important than a win over lee or cotto...i mean belts aside...belts have no integrity..if thye did cotto would never be the 160 champ
