Putting Golovkin's name in the same sentence with Mayweather is an insult to boxing

I, personally would prefer him to move up. In fact, a fair few of the calls for FMJ - GGG are from Floyd fans who would like to see Mayweather cement his legacy as an ATG.
Hey, if you don't want the fight, fair 'nuff. Ain't happening anyways. But if you think GGG can't box you're very much in the minority...you just stick to your guns tho'

The biggest qualm I have about these naturally bigger guys is that they see the smaller guys bringing attention to the sport and they're the ones getting paid the highest right now, so they'll do whatever they can to land those fights when they could easily be making a name for themselves by fighting people their size or bigger. Problem is they can't box. Martinez can, but he's sliding and even he knew that if he went up to fight Ward (or almost any super middle) years ago, he'd have been starched. Thoroughly schooled Chavez Jr. (who's naturally bigger) and the moment he started taking leather in the 11th and 12th it had a major impact.
So here we are again, years removed from the desperate begging of posters for him to face a 35-year old Martinez, only now to a slew of new stans calling for Mayweather to face this 31-year old hypejob in GGG. The cycle continues.
At least Martinez could box.
I don't see how Mayweather needs to go to middleweight. Why? He was super-featherweight champion. Let him clear out 140-154. Then, in a year, if GGG takes out Stevens, Martinez, Quillin, then let the two meet. (If they can. Mayweather will be way past prime and the weight difference may be too much as well).
