Shame that carny can't sue Haney and his crew, since he wasn't hurt.

There’d be more fights in court than in the ring.

I remember people thought Cotto was over-dramatic about plaster-gate, now we’ve got b****es like Haney suing a guy for beating him up in a licensed fight. I just find it laughable.

On the other hand, the argument Haney is going to present (and it’s certainly plausible) is that the outcome has severely diminished his earning potential (regardless of the post-fight admonishment Garcia received when the test results came out).

The other point Haney could present (and is true) is that what Garcia had in his system isn’t just a flimsy or casual by-product of something you could potentially or innocently ingest while in training camp. What Garcia had in his system was from anabolics…something that gives you an edge in muscle recovery IN COMBAT WHERE THE OBJECTIVE IS TO HURT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING.

I could give two ****s how this unfolds, but like another poster said: if Garcia loses his case, I won’t feel sorry for him.

The guy comes in 3.5 pounds overweight, scores three knockdowns, has PEDS in his system…and still with all that only edged Haney.

We are seeing a trend where more and more fighters are starting to waive the weight limit and gamble losing their contract (or tv dates) by pulling these stunts off just to get an advantage. The fines are hardly a deterrent anymore. If I am a main event fighter, and I’m making $4,000,000 in the headline where the penalty is, what, 10% to have an unfair weight advantage and potential upside for pulling off the upset…it could be more common occurrence as time goes by. Keyshawn Davis blasted out a severely overweight opponent but that could’ve veeeeeery easily gone sideways. Lemos didn’t even TRY to make weight, just as Garcia.
I’d be amazed if someone gets charged with battery in a officially licensed fight.

Haney got his 0 back- again, just move the hell on with your career.

The only thing haney could base his case on is the PED results

he cant say battery for the overweight part because he AGREED to continue with the fight after he knew Ryan missed weight, he even collected the fees for it.

Ryan will just claim he accidentally took PEDs. so the burdon of proof would have to be from Haney to prove that Ryan KNOWINGLY took Peds.

Exactly. It’s a complete waste of time. Typical spoilt child behaviour from a guy who can’t accept he got his ass kicked.

cotto was such a crybaby *****. He wanted to retro actively remove a loss, there is zero proof that margo used special wraps with him. they found it in the mosley fight and cotto basically goes "well he had to have used them on me since i lost", cottos team inspected and approved the wraps like every other fight.

Further in the rematch, which was AFTER margo was KOd by mosly and broke his orbital bone by Pac, so a clearly declined margo, STILL gave cotto a very hard fight and Cotto was able to target his eye to break down and stop margo, if margo never broke his eye with pac you could easily see cotto losing again, its a bad style match up. If it was all due to wraps then cotto should have had an easy rematch.

cheaters need to be held accountable for their actions more in this sport, cash is important to everyone, so good luck to haney i say, the more deterrents to this sort of stuff the better

He isn’t suing because he lost.

                    He’s suing because Ryan cheated.

The anger and vitriol should be directed at the cheater. Not the guy who does things the right way.

Fair point. I just think suing cheaters might help reduce cheating.
