Lol I hear you... Its the net though... Even older individuals, seldom do people step up and challenge in person. The net gives cowards a free reign....

IMO it is just the division. Whether we take the population of America pre 1960's, or the population of the world, there will be a small percentage of people who are much bigger than the average. Of those people naturally there will result a smaller percentage of able fighters per capita. The result...

  • Lol, just pulled this down from the general section:

Heavyweight contenders Fabio Wardley and Jarrell Miller had to be pulled apart as tempers flared to formally announce their June 7 fight.

Wardley, the WBA’s No. 1 contender, and Miller, ranked No. 4 by the same organization,...

  • Have you seen Wardley lately? Against his latest opponent? The guy was beautiful to watch, had great feet, used his head both mentally and moved it as well... But in his last fights he seemed to foresake those qualities....

  • The Wardley that started out... who had good feet, moved constantly with upper body amd angular movements, used a jab well and set up his shots would have been a top contender along with Moses Ituama. Then Wardley fell in love with his power, got much heavier (or so it seemed to me) and looked like...

  • Taylor is the most protected fighter in the sport right now. It does not help that women's boxing has two minute rounds and really adheres to Olympic style scoring with no points for damage caused. I do not even care about the head butting, it just burns me that Serrano would have taken Katie out at...

And here you are thinkin' people avoid your questions because they are so cutting and insightful? Let me guess you really set Jab up with that diversion about the Bolt so you could come back from the Red Herring stream? Or is this question the diversion and the bolt is the issue?

    If...

This is were we can really see the flaw in the logic of looking at a slice of a career and making big judgements. If we look at Cotto carefully and assume your post has some truth... Then one must ask: What is a better gauge of ability? winning fights against some tough fighters who all had foibles?...

Just a few general comments here: I see this Dempsey issue in two distinct aspects. We have the physical plausibility of each possible "load" of the gloves. Then we have the eye witness accounts ascribed to the events. It helps me to separate these two because at least if we go through a list...

Give the good doctor time... He will refashion the dolt, I mean bolt in no time! Maybe he can even secure it and give it to the stiff Croat who apparently "just needs to be in shape." Alas... a good dolt like the doctor, I mean a bolt for the hapless Croat might do wonders!...

Exactly!! The tape that was available and probably purchased for any sheninagans or otherwise was that friction tape! I actuially looked it up and it was sold for Knob and Tube (the wiring system back in the 20s) with no gloss to speak of. It is sold these days but much less so and primarily for bike...

It all belies the point: it takes some training and preparation to use these items. It is plausible that a boxing trainer might understand how to make a proper cement wrap... but it starts to get way outside the range of Ockham's Razor when some of the additions are discussed.

    I am on...

Yeah... It is one of those thngs that if you experience you have a slightly different understanding. Actually... It is why some people consider a proper pair of brass knuckles one of the very best weapons one can have....

King put on great cards. No question about it. he also had incredible smarts... He survived a knock down drag out crime war between two BIG BAD factions in a relatively small urban environment... No where to run, no spread out hoods in which to duck and cover... Cleveland was known for blowing up...
