Not sure why Lopez wouldn’t take a fight where he’d be the A side and probably get the lions share of the money. The whole “he wouldn’t give me one if I asked for it” thing seems kinda silly & pointlessly spiteful

Both of them have options if this rematch doesn’t happen. Loma can fight at 135 or 130 & he’s got Haney, Ryan Garcia, Stevenson, Berchelt, Valdez, Herring.
Teos got Haney & Garcia and if he did move up to 140 there’s a ton of great fights to make besides Taylor. I just think Lomas shown more of a willingness to take on the fights we wanna see than Lopez has. Everyone we wanna see him against, he’s shot down
Well, he can't really say: "I'm afraid I'll get beat this time", can he? So, he comes up with nonsensical excuses. The fight should have been a draw. Lopez won the fight, but he didn't beat Loma. And Lopez, behind all this bravado, knows this perfectly well. This is why, kids, you always protect the champion and include a rematch clause. Imagine if Eddie was ****** enough not to include a rematch clause into the contract with Andy Ruiz. Arum was. Or he made a bet on a younger and a more marketable guy in Lopez, who'll make him more money than Loma in a long term. Which is what probably has driven Arum. Either way, Arum screwed up Loma's career.

There would be no Jake Paul if it wasn't for fighters like Lopez.

There was no Jake Pauls back when boxers still fought for something more than just money and ego.

I like that but didnt Lopez as a relative novice knockout Commey. Some young champions would perhaps take a easy touch / few soft defences but he went after the almost unbeatable " no mas" matrix. He beat him also against all the odds now he is being vilified for not offering him a voluntary rematch.

If you are being honest with yourself you thought this in the first fight so sit down and keep quiet until the rematch is scheduled and fought . and not a second before.... Cheers

Exactly. he hasn’t done anything to be vilified for.

What he is doing is not giving Loma what he wants.

That is reasons to not like him? not in my book.

Loma's people were rude to Teo's papi.
            What's the boy to do?

Fighting josh Taylor, well i dont need to explain the benefits there. Fighting Tank or Garcia is a much better move both financially and having a deeper resume. Fighting Loma benefits Loma and satisfies his adoring fans. What does he gain fighting Loma other than money? He would earn more fighting the other guys. I totally understand why Loma wants a rematch and i get it, but its not about him its about Lopez. Loma lost his right to dictate to fighters, the night he chose to enter the ring and throw no punches for 6/7 rounds
Yeah and you really think they would risk Haney fighting a bigger guy with KO power after he got wobbled in his last fight.

First off.... Lomachenko did not HAVE to give Lopez the first fight. He was not a household name, and he was not a mandatory. Lomachenko did it because Lopez wanted it and Loma was happy to throw in there. Even backed off a tad of his guaranteed money to make it happen. So this ****** "They never would have given me a rematch" is the most moronic reason to not do the rematch.

                However....

Lopez beat the breaks off of Lomachenko, who did zero for 5 rounds and legit loss round 12 even after he started fighting.. Lomachenko was not a man about the loss, which is 100% on him for being a child about it. As far as I am concerned, Lomachenko does not deserve the rematch. If Lopez is willing to punt on the huge payday a rematch would bring, so be it. Cannot duck someone who you already beat.

Yeah, I guess he doesn't realize he basically lost 95% of his lustre sitting out the past year waiting for Triller to pick a venue

Would LOMA fans think his stance is a duck or they would honestly accept Teo's career, now doesn't revolve around LOMA and he has to gradually move up in weight . Yes the extra weight would suit him and give him more of an advantage against Loma but why shouldnt he he has earned it. This is a fight just to please LOMA fans so they shouldn't grumble
So in other words, make it not for the titles?
