    Tunney.

An ATG light-heavy who lost to middle Greb.

    Marciano.

49-0 is incredibly deceptive, struggled life and death with old light-heavies and took nine rounds to KO light-heavy C*ckell (who IIRC had glandular problems).

Re Bold: Good thing we don't have these things today.

Who's fault is this? White fighters or just Dempsey?

Don't try and play the race card it won't work. I am a white bloke from Hull, Yorkshire.

I have seen your all time list, viewing the distant past through rose-coloured glasses is a fault so many boxing fans have.

I would say great insight except I never made an all time list.

I'm the anti-list guy on this forum.

So are you full of crap just this time or all the time?

Ok and Lennox getting sparked ice cold in his prime twice? Why does this not seem to matter

Liston quitting against Ali in his prime then getting knocked out in 1 round? What’s the status on that one. Liston losing when he is green against a nobody? Liston beating a 186 lbs middleweight Patterson? Why is this such a big deal.

9 rounds of beating the dog**** out of someone is somehow a knock against Marciano. Marciano was outweighed by half the guys you claim were too small for him. Charles wasn’t old and Walcott’s prime was actually 37 when he won the title. He never did much before that, he actually quit boxing. Moore was old but then he went on to win a title. Louis was old but he was on a 9 fight win streak. Valdez was losing left and right - Including to 180 lb Archie Moore - yet apparently Marciano ducked him?

your take is that of someone new to boxing

I expect you to rage at my calling you out like this. But in amongst the jab I just gave you is a truth card if you are ever willing to learn. This forum would be the place to start

Marciano was the bigger man in19 of his fights.
Charles was 33 with 96&97 fights under his belt ,and he had been a pro for 14 years.

                  Oma no6
                  Agramonte no 9

Moore was the reigning Light Heavyweight Champ when he challenged Marciano.

                  After beating Charles and replacing him as the number 1 contender in1953 , Valdes won 9 fights in a row,among his victims were;
                  Williams
                  Sys
                  Parker
                  Jackson
                  Neuhaus
6 of those victories were by ko.
Prior to beating Charles, Valdes had just beaten Agramonte.

                  Valdes was no1 in1953 and 1954 and no 6 in 1955.
Let's not pretend he wasn't a worthy and deserving challenger for Marciano!

                    New to boxing?

Nah that would be you mate.

I have watched every champ since a young child in the '70's.

I don't fall for tiresome mythology.

                    Or rose-coloured glasses.
