  • God forbid that I should sound like you on this subject.
My stance has always been a man 200lbs+ and 6ft+is big enough for anyone IF he is good enough.
185lbs, 5 ft 10 slow footed, short armed, Marciano does NOT qualify
I've been watching boxing for 68years, practised it for nearly...

I have the two books Dundee wrote and the two Pacheco wrote,I have also seen the unedited fight numerous times with a stopwatch in the corner of the screen.
I don't know you and would not call you a liar, though you have called me one. What I will call you is an ignorant fool!

The salts were administered by cornerman Chickie Ferrara. The glove tear was really a non issue, some stitching had come loose around the base of the thumb, the time delay was only a few seconds, and Cooper's corner also had that extra time to work on his cuts. Ali came out meaning business in the next...

"Most of their careers overlap " Armstrong had his last fight in1904, Johnson in1931.

  • If they were the same, and they are not,why are they spelt different, and why would there be a need for 2 different interpretations?

One is a knockout where a fighter is counted out of time, unable to rise inside ten seconds.
The other is a technical knockout where a fight is stopped...

There was nothing wrong with Resto's hand wraps, the problem was the padding that had been removed from his gloves!
    How dumb are you?
Luis Resto was banned from boxing for life and served time in jail for using his hands as a deadly weapon in his last career bout in 1983 against ...

  • Now we are getting where I predicted we would, the next post by you will be tellling us Marciano would be fine fighting today because a man 4 1/2 inches taller and over 40lbs heavier,a man with more speed, and boxing ability has proved it!
    It's BS!...

  • There is nothing "Porky." about Usyk.
Fury has narrow shoulders and skinny legs,he is tall , but not "exceptionally large",and I have been within a couple of feet of him .

I have nothing against small heavies,my favourite heavy is Dempsey.

  • And in many cases I would agree with them as far as the outcome of matches is concerned. I would not give Jeffries, Corbett,Fitzsimmons,Hart,Burns,Marciano, very good chances today for various reasons.Dempsey,Louis,I would give good chances of shining....

  • As long as they were around the dimensions I stated. I would not give the small guys like Corbett,Fitz,Burns,Marciano, much of a chance.
You are trying to steer this into the old familiar direction, something which occurs everytime a smaller guy beats a bigger one.

    In trying to...

  • Louis had 69 fights ,and was stopped just twice, once when pre prime, through overconfidence, and once when he was washed up,and 37years old
If he was easy to hit,and chinny he would not have dominated the division for nearly 12 years.
If he had two left feet he would not have caught up to...

  • "Little Usyk", is 6 foot three and 226lbs.
    To answer your question.

Why do you think Usyk added the extra weight to his frame to compete at heavyweight?

Why do you think Michael Moorer,Mike Spinks ,and Evander Holyfield did?...

  • The term," out ,"as in," knocked out," is taken from"knocked out of time",ie being on the canvas for 10 seconds.
Hence Ali was not," down and out," which you stated he was.
Marciano, in the heat of the moment landed a full blooded shot to the body,which...

Thats right the offer to Jeffries was the GUARANTEED MINIMUM he would make!

Jeffries defended for the last time against Munroe on26th of August 1904.that same month,2 weeks earlier ,McVey fought Denver Ed Martin, both challenged Jeffries and were ignored,as was the man who beat them both...
