A near perfect fighter at 175 to 192.
Tunney was a learner, an improver... If for no other reason than the social climb engendered.... and if one watches his boxing with the interesting aside of his Clannish chauvanism, he would give the floor to fighters, particularly Irish fighters! like Corbett. What emerged is a man who had encyclopedic knowledge of the sport that spanned two massive epoches. From the likes of men like Greb and Corbett, Tunney mastered preclassical distance, timing, the parry and setting traps... From men emerging from Dempsey's fantastic punching, Tunney learned squaring up, body shifting, and combo punching.

And Beterbiev finds a way to deliver, despite not being very fast on his feet. He has an element of deception.

Experience in any enterprise allows patterns to be seen. A pattern I have seen often in 60 years of watching boxing is the pattern of meteors streaking across the boxing firmament. Most of those meteors burn up in the atmosphere, only a few reach terra firma.

We all love stargazing when a new KO artist joins the sky. We follow him intently, our expectations growing--until he suddenly gets his ass whipped and whipped good by someone with just the right medicine. Suddenly down plummets all those unjustified expectations.

This Beterbiev--and I am impressed too-- has not fought anyone good enough to know if he himself is any good. The one fight that could shed light will be Maywearthered to death by promoters until the fighters are too old for the result to tell us what we want to know.

This is modern boxing and why we really should all be boycotting the garbage they offer up to us in place of interesting fights.

No one is ever going to find out how good Beter is or isn't. The so-called marinators will make sure of that because they know boxing fans are dumb enough to line up for a fight past its expiration date.

Just making sure you get credit for the garbage you post... I consider it a civic duty.

Come fight night, Beter bigger than Tunney or Dempsey. With 6 oz horsehairs, he’d be frightening.

On the other hand, U and jabby would be ham sandwiches.
You really really wouldn’t see much of a size difference at sll. I would bet tunneys is a bigger man who simply trains different and eats whole foods. Beter is probably on creatine and weight gainer, a smaller man with extra bulk put on. How tall is beter? Non of his size would do anything to Tunney, wouldn’t even be a factor
