Also I get free school and healthcare.
That's a lot to bear on a conscience. I hope you stay strong.

It's not. I sleep very well at night knowing I aided in eliminating bad guys.

I also have a weighted blanket. 10/10 would recommend.

A lot of them kept in touch after their service.

One of them said he would consider reinlisting not because he liked the marines, but he said so he could teach the new marines what to do because he already went through it. He didn’t want new marines making the same mistakes he made.
I've always said this. The Marine Corps absolutely sucks, but Marines are the finest people you will ever meet and it the best way I could think of spending my 20's

Did they make dramatic speeches about world domination prior? Like Austin Powers?

Well I am sitting on 100 trillion dollars.

Jokes aside it's not a cult like people make it out to be. It's a job with good benefits and a great brotherhood.

Humans are all natural spiritual & religious even if they claim not to be, it is why all of sudden murderers in jail turn to Christianity or some other religion 'It is why since the beginning of time, men have looked towards the stars at night and wonder 'What if, and why?' there will be a point where these traits are all unearthed. Now? I believe as man, there is a time to fight. But having the discernment in knowing when is a ability in itself 'I can assume that most people here if they where around during the World War II? Most likely we would all enroll to fight, because just maybe this was the last conventional war worth fighting. Who knows?

Yes there are plenty of benefits as you have pointed out, but? Lets just say you happened to go to war, at some point whether it is hidden deep in your mind somewhere, at some point some people may be haunted by the things they have seen, did and experienced. It seems fun in all the video games, and movies but different ball game in reality.

Military is what you make of it. What you put in is what you'll get out of if in most cases. If you are a stoner, slacker, lazy, little to no ambition, then the military is not for you. If you truly want to learn a skill or a trade, get an education, travel, etc., the opportunities are there whether you do a four year hitch, make it a career or to a stint in the reserves/Guard.

Loved the people I worked with and my job, hated how the Army ran things.
