When I read that Stevenson's promoter was happy with the deal he and Duva thrashed out I was sure the fight was going to happen, at last.
For his part, Yvon Michel was quick to respond to Duva's allegations.
"Adonis and I wanted this fight and I wanted to make a mega success , he said in a phone interview with the" Journal de Montreal ". However, what Kathy did not say is that she has never tried to convince HBO to participate in the project while Showtime was ready to embark. "
"The Kovalev clan had made us a very good offer , but ours was even better . In particular they were offered a 50-50 revenue sharing . It's a shame it does not work and we do not understand why they refused ."

Despite the failure of discussions with Duva , Michel does not close the door permanently.
"Our proposal remains on the table as long as both boxers are still champions at the time to resume the negotiations , said the head of GYM . Meanwhile , life goes on and it is no necessary to blame someone for this situation. It's part of the business ."

Sorry but Canelo is the only one I know of that has blatantly ducked a mandatory fight while trying to pretend that he wants it (155 lbs doe)

What about Chad Dawson and Fonfara? Or did you conveniently leave out those names?

Chad Dawson is his best win. A chinny, coming off of a loss where he was knocked down 39 times by a soft punching Ward.

This is his 3 most recent fights, while he had Hopkins, Pascal x2 on the table. Prior was Fonfara, a tune-up straight off ESPN2 getting schooled by washed up Campillo till he gassed. That's his entire run since bolting from HBO to avoid Kovalev. Huge rating drops tell the story of this irrelevant champ

              Ward will have both ^^

              Sullivan - check
              Kovalev - check
              Stevenson - check

They should have done that... It would have been the only solution... Showtime-HBO...

Stevenson is going to lose to one of his subpar opponents soon anyway.

Haymon has enough fighters at LHW capable of spinning that belt for a long time.

Exactly!.......Stevenson losing DOESN'T do anything for Kovalev, the belt will still most likely be on the other side of the bridge anyway. A bridge that he will still be unable to cross with his HBO EEXCLUSIVEE contract!!

At one point or the other both sides have been responsible for this fight not happening, if you're only willing to blame one side then you expose your bias.
