It's all too complicated with too many people and en****** involved.

It seems like Duva and Michel, Stevenson's promoter, worked out a deal they were both happy with.

Then Stevenson's other promoter, the one who isn't supposed to be a promoter, asked for something else, which was for the fight to be shown on Showtime as well as HBO.

Then Duva had to ask HBO's permission for that, because of Kovalev's HBO exclusivity contract.

HBO said "no" and the deal fell apart.

I can't even be arsed with blaming anyone at this point. This is just typical of this worthless ****ing sport that continues to lose irrelevance by the day because of it's own incompetency and the greedy, self-serving ****s that are in it.

I actually agree with Mike-R, who said earlier that Stevenson has killed his own relevancy.

I like both Kovalev and Stevenson, moreso Kovalev..... and I don't think Stevenson ducked that fight...... there is a bigger case against Kovalev, but I don't think he ducked it either.

I would like to blame timing/politics, but they have had plenty of time to make that fight.... so I guess politics is likely the problem.

kafkod gave a great explanation above in post #71, that sounds the most likely holdup to me.

But yea disappointed in Stevenson, because as you pointed out, he didn't fight Hopkins or Pascal either..... so, not a good look.
