Not surprising - at this point Stevenson has turned into a complete joke. He absolutely wasted his prime hiding behind his promoter.

I know that is the common sentiment on this site, but the easily verifiable facts prove that the complete opposite is true.

Kovalev is anything but protected, are you sure you are not confusing him with Stevenson? You know the guy who avoided both Hopkins and Pascal while Kovalev took care of them.

I'm sorry dude, but you are sadly mistaken. The facts do not support your premise. When Stevenson was with HBO, Hopkins was a *SHOWTIME* fighter. Stevenson jumped to Showtime so he could fight Hopkins. Hopkins then jumped to HBO to fight Kovalev.

To suggest that Stevenson ducked Hopkins is absolutely ludicrous, especially when he was actively pursuing Hopkins.

IMO I think what getting in the way of this fight happening is that exclusive contract with HBO. I'm sure if this fight went to purse bid there would be more money on the table overall to split and more than HBO is willing to pony up. but the purse bid won't be anything close to 50-50. If the exclusive contract wasn't in place the fight could go to the highest bidder to which I believe Haymon who be a major influence on the outcome just like the purse bid and still more than HBO is willing to pay. I'm willing to be the deal breaker was HBO or no fight.
I'm not calling either fighter a ducker because I truly believe they want to fight. There's too much animosity between them.

everyone calls this fight "highly anticipated" and "must happen" but almost nobody seems to actually anticipate it or give stevenson a chance in hell of winning

Yes that's what they said why agree to a fight to be setup in June then pascal pulls off upset and can make fight with him then, duva never had any intentions on making the fight and goes on to say he already lined up to fight in Russia in June lol
