If it makes anyone feel better, this time next year we will likely all be crying about how Artur Beterbiev will never get to fight Andre Ward instead of crying over this one.

Stevenson never had any intention of fighting Kovalev never did, since he didn't walk but ran from HBO to Showtime when it was a guaranteed fight.

The guy is terrified of "The Krusher", you can see it in interviews when the guy's name is brought up. I doubt he even has the sack to fight Artur Beterbiyev.

Chickenson didn't even have the balls to fight Pascal, who is a fellow Haitian, Quebecer, Canadian... Quebecers demanded the fight, which would have been equivalent to a Brook vs Khan fight in the UK.

Pascal reached out to him on several occasions, but Chickenson said NO. As you can see this is a fight with absolutely ZERO issues. It's a MONEY fight. Quebecers wanted it. There was no Duva to deal with. It can be done on SHO, whatever Chickenson wanted, you name it.

Which just proves that Chickenson is the real problem.

I have to wonder who Kovalev will fight in Russia. It obviously won't by a Haymon fighter, and I don't see Braehmer leaving Germany nor GB allowing Shabransky.

When Provodnikov fought there, Russian tv insisted on JLC, b/c he was recognizable name regardless that he was badly faded. By that notion, they'd probably insist on Chad Dawson, but he's still Haymon. There's a good chance Kovalev stays in the US and fights Chilemba on a small card, maybe trying a double header with Ward.

Yea, good point. Who promotes Beterbiev, is it GYM or TR ?

I remember mid-late last year the subject of Beterbiev came up.

They said they wanted 1-2 more fights before facing Kovalev.

Could that be the Russian fight ?
