Again Floyd doesn't take risks and showtime sure as hell won't be down to take that risk so I GURANTEE Floyd either has to fight manny, not fight at all until September or change his date. You guys act like people just go "OH MY GOD FFLOYDMAYWEATHER! TAKE MY MONEY!" Floyd needs an opponent to do good numbers. With a joke of an opponent plus Cotto-Canelo, Floyd will not do as good numbers and if Showtime can't get max profit off a Floyd fight I'm am 100% sure they'd rather him sit out then go against Cotto-Alvarez.

They have proven they will continue to support Floyd fights. They haven't proven they will support Canelo or cotto-especially considering the ppv for each last year were considered disappointing by their own teams.
You can label people however you wish, at the end of the day Floyd has proven to generate large sums of money for all involved. Canelo v Cotto is a huge fight that will definitely attract people.
I will not respond to you anymore
As I said before Canelo's follow up ppv was a disappointment and didn't hold purchasers. As opposed to say floys, whose drop from the ODH fight to the Hatton fight wasn't nearly as far as Canelo's drop.
they don't drive sales then either. The demographics makeup of the US doesn't change on May 5 or September 12 weekends.
Canelo and Cotto has a very real chance of taking the date. I am aware of that and even believe dan is correct-if cotto/canelo gets made Floyd will not fight on the date.
That said, its not as easy to unseat Floyd as it would seem. I know NSB likes to pretend he doesn't generate any money but he does. It isn't as easy to make the money as posters think.
like i said, mexicans dont contribute much to ppv sales, except for when their top guy is fighting another top guy. thats why if canelo vs cotto happens in may its gonna do better than floyd vs anyone not name manny.

It's really not rocket science. Cotto and Canelo would take all off the Hispanic fan base while Floyd would rely on guys like Big Dunn and Brushmyhair and other diehard Floyd fans. Not to mention the lackluster fight Floyd put up against Maidana, who wants to see him fight some British guy with no chin and no power.
You guys are extremely underestimating Cotto and Alvarez or just riding Floyds ****. But you guys are usually good posters so I really hope it's the latter. Floyds never gone against other competition on the same day because he's never had a threat. I'm not even saying Floyd would back down 100% but mostly showtime who again needs Floyd to do max profit to even come close to breaking even against a lackluster opponent in the states.
