Why was Golovkin willing to move up to 168 for Chavez Jr but not for Andre Ward?

No, Dawson clearly said in the post fight interview he was willing to come down to 168, that's on him. Ward didn't make Dawson do anything.

Here are some other facts you forgot to mention:

Golovkin- when first asked about Ward said he had unfinished business (no problem from me, i understand that)

Then goes on to say he is willing to fight ANYONE from 154-168 (ok he changed his mind, let's hope he stick by the key word 'anyone')

Negotiates to fight Chavez JR at 168, fight falls through.

When asked about Ward following that he goes back to saying he wants to unify at 160. BACKTRACKKKK

And you keep saying that same thing except this fact simply doesn't change.

GGG has never fought a guy above 160. Ward has fought a light heavyweight, the end.

People bringing up Kovalev's name but you should understand that Ward all of his interviews in the last 1-2 years said, that his weightclass is 168 and doesn't plan to move up yet. In turn: Golovkin and his team stated that they willing to fight anyone from 154-168.
You really don't see what's the difference between the two?
Out of this I don't think Golovkin is a "duck" but in my eyes he is unproven and overrated and Ward would probably turn him from good boy to school boy (and Kovalev from krusher to air krusher).

Ward has said many times in the past that he plans to go to Light Heavyweight and even Heavyweight. Enough of the lame excuses.

Don't complain that no one wants to fight you when it's clearly not the case. That goes for both Ward and Golovkin.

If Ward were fighting Golovkin's level of competition people would be crying about how he is ducking real challenges rather than his inactivity. Somehow, at the same time it makes Golovkin an unstoppable beast. I'm fine with Golovkin staying at 160 and Ward staying at 168. All these fighters jumping around so much combined with the excessive amount of weight classes is making divisions pointless. Whatever happened to guys moving up/down, fighting a tuneup/gatekeeper or two to test the waters, then taking the big fight. Now it seems like guys just jump weight classes for big fights because it comes in with a bult-in excuse.

Why doesn't GGG move down to 160lbs??
He has plenty of time to do it and do it the healthy/correct way since he isn't active.
