Why was Golovkin willing to move up to 168 for Chavez Jr but not for Andre Ward?

Whatever. Ward and his 3 fans are filled with hate, bitterness and frustration. Meanwhile GGG is fighting at MSG. When's Ward's next fight? A year from now everyone, except those 3, will be "Ward who?"

'Ward who?' well, lets look at that.

If they both retired today lets think about who would be more remembered.

Ward would go down as an ATG supermiddleweight who fought the best of his era.

Golovkin would be remembered as a world class fighter who was heavily hyped by HBO beating c/d level fighters.

Not quite, the GGG part is correct but Ward wouldn't be remembered at all. Well maybe as Roy Jones replacement for HBO commentary, more casuals will recognize him from that over what he hasn't done in the ring.

Because Ward would wipe the floor with him and Team Golovkin knows this?

Shame Ward's prime is being ruined. He won't even be out of his contract with Goosen until November 2016. Ward will be almost 33 by then which isn't old, but getting up there for a fighter.

Of course he would be remembered. This isn't welterweight or heavyweight with household legends like Ray Robinson, Tyson, Ali etc. Super middleweight is a fairly modern division. You have the 90's greats but it doesn't go anywhere near as deep as the divisions i just mentioned.

In a lack of historical depth division like 168 Andre Ward will most definitely be remembered. He is at worst top 10 ATG at 168.

Ok so you are seemingly accepting that Ward would be more remembered despite the typical 'Ward who' comment GGG fans like to say regarding Ward.

GGG is fighting at MSG, so is Geale lol congratulations. Ward can sit back for a while, at the current level GGG is fighting at he would probably need to fight another 2 years before he would be more remembered than Ward. We can talk about facts all day but I don't want to change the original topic of the thread

The problem you have is that you don't want your boy to lose and you hope that Ward will become irrelevant so he doesn't have to fight him but it's not going to happen.

A lot of people think that, in fact a guy who's been in the ring with both would favor GGG over Ward :

Let those people have someone they can say is good. The truth is he's afraid, a common coward.
"Golovkins built his reputation on saying hell fight anybody. I raise my hand and say Im somebody. Lets do it. [But] nothing."
-Andre Ward on Gennady Golovkin ducking him
When GGG first said that, Ward didn't call him out but said "it would be a great fight down the road". GGG was actually in negotiations with 168 lbers like Oosthuizen and Rodriguez (before Ward fought him). It's only after GGG's team said they don't want that fight yet that Ward started to openly call him out. I like both guys, but Andre sounds jealous of the fact that Gennady has been getting much more attention that him lately.

Yeah Lara called him out, and then the Angulo fight brought him back down to earth.

Let those idiots believe in this hype job and clean up when its time to bet on him
How do you get the kind of amateur pedigree GGG has without knowing how to deal with true boxers? Get real.
