He was KO'n inferior opposition. Even though his resume was better than GGGs. He was being hyped as boxing's next superstar, and getting ridiculous TV ratings. The difference with AB and GGG, AB was willing to move up, two divisions at that, in order to make better events and more interesting match-ups. After Rees, what if AB had simply made his mandatory against Omar Figeroua. I know I know, AB's a bum. But his bumass would a beat the living **** outta Figeroua. And instead of fooling with a puncher like Maidana. What if he had stuck around and fought a unification with someone like Vazquez, Abril, or Burns, who ducked him like a plague. I know I know. AB's a bum. But neither of those guys can crack an egg. And I'm thinking all would be solid underdogs that had a good chance of being walked down by the bigger, stronger, harder punching AB. But to his credit, AB after being criticized for fighting Rees. Who BTW was rated higher as a lightweight when AB fought him than anyone GGG has fought to date. But to his credit, AB was willing to go up and make more interesting fights. It was a calculated risk that appears to have failed. But at least he had the balls to do it. To this point, GGG hasn't. #endthread
    You obviously don't get it.
People dislike Broner, and like GGG because they can't stand Broners character. He was acting like he's the next biggest thing telling everyone he met he was boxing's future. GGG doesn't do that. He has never done that, so for you to even compare the two shows how blinded you are by race.
And by the way talk about the kettle calling the pot black. You do the very same thing you're accusing others of doing. You defend Broner and support him, but are here to criticize GGG.

Maybe Andre getting a tad jelly that HBO is pushing him harder to be an attraction than Ward.

Anyway I remember when they were cool. On HBO's 2 Days Golovkin they were real friendly; GGG was saying how Ward was the best flat out in and around the weight class. And GGG's team was talking about how much respect they had for him. Now both teams be talking mad ish lol
Agreed, it definitely sounds like Ward is a tad jealous that he isn't getting the attention that GGG is getting. If he wants to get more star power, he's going to have to win more fights against tough opponents convincingly, outside of Oaktown. Sure, he beat Abraham, Kessler and Froch, but that was over 2 years ago! Dawson came down to fight him, and was already showing signs of fading against Hopkins. Rodriguez was an unproven, undefeated fighter. Granted, Golovkin isn't yet fighting top-tier fighters, but he's KOing nearly everyone he faces & they're not exactly bums. He has an 89.66% KO record, which I believe is the highest in boxing right now, vs a 51.85% KO record for Ward. Bottom line, GGG is more exciting than Ward by leagues, and is therefore getting more buzz.

Exactly HOW is Golovkin in Ward's position?

Ward is lineal @ 168 and P4P #2 in the world.

Golovkin, OTOH, is merely a paper titlist.

            Do the math..

Damn people trade on you quick.

I remember when Ward was going against Floyd and he was a hero, a legend, no he's boring, a cherry picker, a runner, can't box.

                Damn.

Well that's the difference between you and I son. I don't care what they say or do outta the ring. Because I don't know any of them outta the ring. All I see is a 32yr old decorated amateur that's having his balls massaged for beating up bums for a decade. And a 23yr old that came outta nowhere, talked ****, but in the ring at least tried to backup his claims. That's all I see and care about.
