He's a windmilling idiot with a bit of power and a glass jaw. David Price mark II. He's no good, and a KO waiting to happen.

In fact, I would back big owl head Price to beat Wilder.

Am I the only one who thinks Earl isn't serious and is just being sarcastic?

Of course he is. He's been making anti-American HW threads for months, and all of the sudden he's gonna give credit? Him and his goons ar 'avin a little giggle m8!

30 fights in yet he only has about 50 rounds under his belt. He's still learning.

But you make a good point, Malick is a good step up but I just can't believe when people defend how slowly he has been bought along. He has only boxed 53 rounds? Whos fault is it that he has fought some of he worst heavies in history?

If he ends the year having fought Malick, a past it Thompson and possibly someone like Mitchell/Banks/Johnson, it would have been a good year for him.

i don't think it's necessarily that wilder will beat all of your HW that's causing the fear.

the rub is that wilder is one of several thousand athletes in america who just happened to choose boxing over his basketball career, and is already an olympic medalist and a fringe contender.

there are tons of deontay wilders playing collegiate and pro basketball and football. these guys are huge and talented. they're all wilders. i know you guys don't want to hear that, but it's the truth. i think that's where the fear / hatred comes from.

wilder just happens to be the only one of these guys who has long arms and can punch? of course not. wilder's not even all that talented compared to these men. you wouldn't even think some of these guys were real if they started boxing.

Didn't he need money for his daughter or something like that? It wasn't because he particularly liked boxing - and he had a late start to the sport - it was more a case of him needing money. At least that's how I understood his story.

I fully appreciate that there's a lot of heavyweights running around in the rugby leagues, unions, NBA, NFL etc. Of course there are. But that doesn't mean you can change from having played basketball all of your life to turn into a heavyweight champion.

It's always the same story with these athletes. They come from another sport, knock a few bums out and end up getting KOd badly when they meet a true boxer - not just one who converted out of convenience.

I think that will happen to Wilder as well. Whether or not he vanishes into oblivion like the obvious comparison Michael Grant, remains to be seen.

But I like him. He seems like a cool guy and he loves it in the UK.

One of Wilder's best attributes is his 'killer instinct.' The guy genuinely likes to knock dudes out so much so, that he reminds me of a young George Foreman. Young George Foreman was a bad a$$ black guy who fought with a 'chip on his shoulder' and liked puttin' a hurtin' on his opponents. That's Wilder's mentality, as evidenced by his 100% KO ratio and it sets him apart from many of contemporaries

Grant was a helluva lot better than Wilder at a similar career junction. yes the heavyweight division sucks but you still need to be able to do more than beat Dustin Nichols. As soon as a guy has the backing to pay for a half decent trainer that guy will be taught to avoid Wilder's right. End of story, ed of career

Other than his tremendous KO power, Wilder doesn't seem to bring much to the table. He has feasted on bum after bum. At this stage of a HWT's career he should have been in with an opponent who isn't there just to get KO'd.

I think he's absolute trash, but if he fought any top HWT his size and power would make him a very live dog.

Hopefully 2014 will see him fight quality opposition. Frankly, its not enjoyable watching him KO overmatched opponents.
