we can't be sure that he's the real deal yet. HW need to have a good enough chin and defense, or it is over.

we can't go back in time to change his matchmaking.
wilder's only been 53 rounds as a pro. he's just not ready for a true top 5-10 guy. he'll lose. it would be a shame to see a potential start at HW to get moved too quickly. this i a big, big guy. he's going to be filling out for a couple more years. there's definitely no rush.
scott is a good opponent. kevin johnson, would be a good opponent. i also want him to fight dominick guinn, who has power and has never been stopped.

But you make a good point, Malick is a good step up but I just can't believe when people defend how slowly he has been bought along. He has only boxed 53 rounds? Whos fault is it that he has fought some of he worst heavies in history?
If he ends the year having fought Malick, a past it Thompson and possibly someone like Mitchell/Banks/Johnson, it would have been a good year for him.

The talent is real for sure. From a strictly physical point of view i think he is in a league of his own at HW. Unfortunately he doesnt have the skills or the boxing intelligence to be a real threat to anyone good. If he wasnt a HW we would never even have heard of him. Early in his career i had some hopes for him but he hasnt progressed fast enough for me to feel that way at this point.

Power alone doesn't make you the real deal. I've yet to see this guy go through adversity, let alone fight someone who's credible. Until now, he's just another hyped up contender. I'll give credit when it's due.
