Even the great SRR never fought any of the black murder's row guys.. Saw a documentry on it and it explained that if you were a draw like marciano or SRR you would get protected from lesser known but very good fighters...

Not trying to say Marciano is a bum but the 50's were loaded with great fighters and boxing was still a main stream sport and you are telling me the only legit guys were faded 40 year old guys..In the entire world!!
Come on man, any boxing historian like bert sugar could have probably named off like 20 guys that were deserving but didnt get a chance cuz they didnt have the right connections..
My grandpa liked him but always said the he wouldnt be undefeated champ if he fought in the 60's and 70's
sugar is a wonk that rates tunney hiher than tyson. how is that possible. dont take his opinion for anythin even his book needs severe updating

That has nothing to do with what those fighters do outside of against Wlad and Vitali. That is a very bad excuse why Wlad and Vitali don't fight HOF fighters.

They haven't beaten any. But I do think they should probably be first ballot HOFers on their dominance alone. You never know, some of the guys they beat down on could go on to do some great things after they're gone, that would only serve to strengthen their resumes.

It's not their fault that the competition is so bad. It will prevent them from reaching the greatness their insane fans believe they should be remembered as having, and that's unfortunate, but at the same time you can't dismiss Wlad especially as not being a great heavyweight.

It's really unfortunate that we haven't gotten to see what Wlad and Vitali really are capable of. Heavyweights are just so bad in recent memory.

Vitali shouldn't, and it's about time that people stop crediting him for the things his brother has done. I'm a Vitali fan, but his resume is pathetic for the standing people try to give him.

Wlad has more of a claim to it than Vitali, yes, but Vitali has been almost as dominant, albeit against slightly lesser opposition.

I'm not really that fussed if Vitali gets it or not, but I would be massively disappointed if Wlad doesn't.

                  None.

They deserve to be in the HOF, but I have to be honest, I've always had the belief that if Wlad came across anything above a B level heavyweight it would more than likely end in KO, thus damaging his legacy. He is an A level heavyweight with a C level chin, and against many HOF heavyweights that would get him exposed.

True Bert sugar isnt the greatest but thats the only historians name i could think of off the top of my head...But Still doesnt change the fact that Marciano has a pretty weak resume compared to Louis, ali, frazier, even holyfield

I would like to add that Wlads chin is not his only weakness, his stamina is not good. What Manny Steward taught him was how to negate those weaknesses, but against great heavyweights, I think they would take Wlad into deep waters and drown him. The fact that he has one punch KO power, and his chin is hard to get too gives him a chance against almost anyone, but I wouldn't like his chances against the very best.
