Gonna be funny when Paulie takes it. The reason this is such a poor choice for Broner is what does he do if he loses? I guess he says he went up to fast. I juat do not see this kid being that good. He has no mobility. Dwyer said something interesting to the effect of "Broner is imitating an older Floyd" implying that younger Floyd had great legs in the ring...which Bronner does not have. I think this is a good point. Paulie is mobile and if Broner is lazy and gives away a few rounds.....It could get interesting.

This says it all! It's a strategic move to avoid tougher fights!

Lol of course it is. Sure he jumps two divisions, but he chooses the easiest champ there. Its a full on cherry pick.

With that said I hope he whoops some ass.

to call this a cherry pick for broner would be to give him too much credit...is he already the best in boxing? or is he already good enough for people to acknowledge that he's wasting his time with specific competition? some folks on here must really believe he's on some mayweather ****...

Absolutely. There is no question whatsoever. It is undoubtedly a 'cherry pick'. Anyone thinking otherwise is a daft ****.

Doesn't mean it's not a bad fight though. As long as he moves back to 140 to take tough fights, I don't care about these type of things. He's a new champ, still learning and building himself. YOu can't take huge fight after huge fight, not that he's had any huge, tough fights yet, but he's got plenty of time and there are a lot out there. If he stays at 147 to fight chumps and steer clear of 140 then it sucks.

Paulie has terrible defense, and can't win the exchanges. He's not fast enough or offensive enough. He's going to take a beating. You don't have to be the next Floyd to beat the brakes off Paulie. Hell, a past it Hatton gave him a whipping and he more or less just lost to Cano.

Yea although its not like his prior competition has been much better.

I'm not a fan of either fighter and I do not support this fight. Maybe Paulie from four years ago would have put up a better fight but he's fallen off and its not like he was ever all that great to begin with.

So he beats Malignaggi. Big deal. Haymon and GBP are full of crap.

it's an attempted cherry-pick on the part of his handlers, based on their estimation of Broner's talent level and of Malignaggi's fadedness. i love Paul, so i hope it's a miscalculation.
