Not really, both of them had nothing going on...the guys at 140 are settling things amongst themselves and have been lining up to fight each other, I don't want Broner to show up and mess all that up tbh. They are doing other things and those fights are pretty good. I'm not too caught up in his hype right now, so I really don't care at this stage..I'm still just learning about what he can do. AT LEAST Paulie can be a mover...that is something a lot of people wanted to see in a fight with Vazquez. I'm not equating the two because they are different and obviously Miguel is in his prime right now...but that is part of the reason I'm not bothered with this fight here.

To skip the 140 division which is probably the most stacked in boxing does not look good for Broner and the fight does seem like a "cherry pick" even though Paulie is a solid fighter but I don't see how he could trouble Broner, and Broner and his people know it.

the difference is the ghost skipped those weight classes to get to big fights. Manny did as well. Broner skip big fights for malinaggi. Khan,Garcia,matthysse,Peterson, are all better fights than Paulie. DE la hoya was the biggest fight manny could make. Mayweather is the biggest fight Robert can make. Malinaggi isn't the biggest fight broner can make. Therefore it's more of a cherrypick than a step up

Well, let's look at what Malignaggi has done in the last 5 years...

Loses to Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan, Juan Diaz (once)

Beats: Juan Diaz (rematch), Jose Cotto, Senchenko, Cano

Broner's best win is probably Demarco (which isn't saying a lot), but against Malignaggi he's fighting a crafty boxer who has seen his best days and has fought some of the best in the sport.

I don't know if it's a cherry pick or Golden Boy are trying to pair him up with Mayweather for a super bout next year (not totally impossible).

But he IS jumping over probably the most stacked division in Boxing...so....
