Why isn't Pac fighting Bradley at his strongest/most proven weight (140)?

so weight classes don't matter? hatton was better at 140 because he was bigger and stronger than guys who had to make 140. mayweather only had to make 147 so hatton's advantages were negated. hatton was the same size on fight night but his opponents were stronger at 147.

I still say that it is more of an advantage for Bradley to fight at 147 then it is for him to fight at 140. Even though Bradley fights at 140, he has to really dehydrate himself to make it because his natural weight is much higher then that. If he only has to go to 147, he doesn't have to dehydrate himself nearly as much. Pac isn't a natural 147. 140 would be closer to his natural weight. Pac doesn't have to dehydrate himself to make weight in either weight class so Bradley would pretty much be fighting the same Pac in either class.

It just seems like Pac is trying to put Bradley at a disadvantage before they even step in the ring. I've heard other posters say that Pac tries to do this, but I've never really gave it much attention.

But when it comes to Bradley, I just don't see why Pac feels the need to bring him up in weight when that would obviously put Bradley at a disadvantage before they even enter the ring.

Bradley has had 1 fight at 147 against Abregu, which ended up being at UD. Nothing to scream and shout about.

I understand this is a fight and the whole object is to beat your opponent, but I don't think Pac has to win this way. IMO, he can beat Bradley at 140, but why try to beat him this way before the fight even starts. It's just not necessary.
Remember that one time when Mayweathwer fought an undefeated fighter that was a champ @140lbs, moved up to 147 lbs then moved back down to 140lbs for 2 fights and then moved back up to 147lbs to challenge him?

or when pac fought margarito at 150 for a 154 lb title, or when pac fought odlh at 145 and odlh hasnt fought at that weight in 10 yrs, or when pac fought jmm at 147 and got his ass taxed, or when pac fought cotto at 145, or when pac most recently tried to get cotto to drain himself again and get him to come down to 146........SO is this what you were referring to............END THREAD!

What a ridiculous thread! Bradley himself said he will be stronger at 147. Its not like Hatton when he was nearly knocked out by Collazo at 147 is it?

Why dont people want Pac to stay at 147 so he is on Floyds coat tails trying to get a fight with him? If floyd tries to move to middlweight to escape Pac, pac will just eat more to stalk floyd.

Pacquiao's fighting a bloated Bradley, and if he wins he won't get much credit.

No, i think you meant to say Floyd is fighting Pac leftovers and wont get any credit whatsoever, and Pac will get all the glory in fighting unbeaten Bradley.

Mayweather was basically a 140 fighter fighting at 147. If Hatton was fighting a big WW that would be different. That fight was basically 2 140 fighters fighting 147 so they didn't have to sweat down to 140 just like Pacquiao vs Bradley is.
