You act like he was suppose to knock Mosley out as if Mosley was always getting KO'd or something.

At the time, Mosley was on a multi-fight win streak. Not coming off the poor performances like when he fought Pac.

Mosley only lost to two other men (Wright and Forrest). No shame there.

Now here we are in 2012 and Mosley obviously isn't who he once was and now all of a sudden it's so shameful to barely beat Mosley in 2007.

If boxingscene was around in the early 80's, you would be chewwing George Foreman and Joe Frazier out because they lost to Ali who lost to Spinks.

I tell ya, some of the stuff you guys say and forget on this site, never amazes me.
jeez whats the difference between Mosley in 07 and 09?? he was still shot/past prime and Cotto barley got a W and what about Torres how almost stopped Cotto? who has Cotto beat to make his a beast at 147? ****ing Zab judah and two fights Clottey and Mosley where he lost in some people eyes ?

look I like Cotto but he was/is overrated he won vacant belts and never beat the #1 guy in his division 140,147 or 154 Cotto was NEVER a beast

Which years was he at the top of the Ring rankings? I only remember him being atop the rankings for a short time after he beat Cotto (when Mayweather was retired) and before he got KO'd by Mosley.

we can cite 1 'until' after another until the sun don't rise anymore.
I asked you to tell me which one of my statements was selective memory! Instead, you come up with this crap! What does the Williams/Cintron fight have to do with Margarito losing to Paul Williams?

          2004, 2005, 2006

and he was in the top 3 or 4 in the years previous to those too.

          not bad eh?

but don't take my word for it.

          go check the ring site.

              You can't be serious.

Cotto got hurt by Judah, Corley, Mosley and Torres. Mayweather also got hurt by 3 of the 4 guys and didn't fight the 4th. Would it make you feel better if Mayweather fought Torres and got hurt by him also?

Instead of waiting until a man gets beat with plaster and by a guy who refused to take a PED test, how about you go back and look at where his opponents were ranked "at the time" that Cotto's fights took place then get back to me.

I know where his opponents were ranked, but obviously you don't.

Put it like this; if you discredit Cotto before he fought Marg in 2008, then you also have to discredit Mayweather, Hatton, Baldo, Marg, Williams and everyone else in the division during that time. A lot of those guys all fought similiar to the same opponents.

I don't even like Cotto like that, but the way some of you have selective memory puzzles me. I can't help but say something.

PS: Cotto did beat Mosley, but only because Mosley didn't take the fight that was in front of him. He had every opportunity just like Clottey did to win that fight, but he didn't capture the moment. But Cotto rightfully won the fight, despite how close it was.

Not bad at all...except for the fact that it is not true. In 2004, Ring magazine had Corey Spinks listed as the welterweight champion after he beat Ricardo Mayorga in December 03 and Zab Judah in 04. In 2005, Judah was the Ring welterweight champion and in 2006 it was Mayweather. Margarito was near the top and was ranked at #1 for a while during that time, but he was not the Champion.

good point. I realized my mistake after I posted it. I don't mind the jabbing, especially when I know I am right.

Please tell me how Mayweather retired to "duck" Cotto?

After fighting Hatton on 2007 December Floyd fought again only on 2009 September, facing a puffed-up Marquez. If Floyd really wanted to fight Miguel, all he had to say to Larry Merchant after the Hatton fight was "let's make it happen" isn't it?
