I was on aol with Iceman Scully, JAB, Scott and a few others around here now.
I read this site and maxboxing but I didn't join until much later.
I think for a long time it was cuz of the pop-ups. It was annoying as hell on here back then.

The topic at hand from the start.
Cotto ducked Floyd for a while. That is true.
Floyd didn't go out of his way to fight Margs and I believe it was to spite Arum more than anything.
Margarito was the guy back then, Floyd made his choice, it's over, we can't change it.

I am talking about 2006 when the fight was hot.
As of right now, until Dan gives me more info on the interview he's talking about, according to ESPN, the summer of 2006 was when Arum officially offered the Margarito fight to Floyd. Floyd accepted, but with a guaranteed package deal that Arum couldn't approve.
That's why the Floyd vs margarito fight didn't happen in 2006 and why Floyd went on to fight Baldomir.
Now, if you're talking about 2004 and 2005, Mayweather was still fighting at 140 until he fought Mitchel like you said.
But that's an awful lot to ask Mayweather to fight margarito in his first fight at 147 in 2005 don't you think?
That's far from a duck if you ask me.

Sugar Ray fought Hagler off a 3 year lay off and at 160. Now that's a man.
If we are talking about 2006, Margs was better than Judah and Baldy.
I've heard different stories from both camps on it. What the truth is I don't know.
Arum says they balked, Floyd said they couldn't guarantee. Doesn't matter
I remember being very disappointed because I thought it could come off.
It's old hat anyways. I've spent too much time reliving what happened back then anyways in the champ of the week welterweight division, Margs was the only somewhat constant guy in the mix.
