Mayweather is the truth in terms of talent and I think he beats everyone they put in front of him, problem is I'm not so sure he even thinks so. Those numbers that he did with Mosley don't tell the whole story, people paid to see him challenged for the first time, which was the public/media perception going in, so he had that on his side in terms of selling the fight. Mosley can't sell water to a well, we all know that, but he is well liked and respected enough that people saw him as a challenge and bought the fight for that reason, Mosley had name recognition. Now partner up Mayweather with a guy no one outside of the general boxing public knows and he won't do those numbers again.

How is it imaginary when Floyd is the #1 WW? He beat Shane Mosley.
          You have a Floyd obsession.

Pac sang on Jimmy Kimmel for god sakes, he connects with a younger audience and was given the first seat on Jay Leno or David Letterman, not at the conclusion of their shows. He has an accessible personality which helps. Floyd did big numbers because of the residual effect of his first 24/7. I bet the house if he takes on what people perceive as soft touches and without HBO 24/7 his numbers will drop substantially. I also guarantee you if he fought someone like Clottey he wouldn't have done comparable numbers and half the stadium would have been empty.

Pacquio-Margarito will be more embraced by the hardcore community, which will probably account for another 300K buys. If it doesn't do a million, I think it will approach it.

I'd say no more than 700-800 thousand if that. I think most people are smart enough to watch that one online cause it sure aint worth buying.

Pac Margo is a bull**** fight that will not do well PPV , Pac fans should not even entertain another in house Arum fighter for Pac , you really think Arum is going to kill his own golden goose , every in house fighter will be paid to lose ,,,, there is only one fight Pac vs May .

Williams or Martinez will fit both criteria. There's a hardcore base of about 300K-500K that will always buy a great match-up. I think Mayweather against either will get 300K-500K hardcore homes to buy. Mayweather also has a group of about of about a million that will buy regardless of who he's fighting. If you look at those two sets of numbers, you'll see where Mayweather's totals for JMM and Mosley came from. he got the million that will always buy in the JMM fight, but virtually no support from the hardcore community. With Mosley, he got the million that will always buy and what pushed it to 1.4 was the support of the hardcore community. The same would hold true with Williams or Martinez. I might not do the 1.4M because I think the longer Money and Pac go without fighting each other, there will be backlash that will affect boths PPV numbers. But, i think Mayweather would do a million easily with either of those cats.
It's all about proper timing and marketability. Against Marquez Mayweather had claimed Marquez had an entire country behind him(it was only after this fight where he claimed the exact opposite), a lot of Mexicans paid to see that fight, that played into the numbers in addition to the excitement factor of having the best boxer on the planet coming back...fair enough, off of Martinez/PWill he may come close to a million not sure he passes that number, heavily dependent on promotion in my opinion.

Everyone by now understands who Mayweather is, his shtick will eventually wear off. Mosley had name recognition beyond just someone who people thought would be competitive, although not a big seller, paired with a big star Mosley could attract a higher audience and likely did as evidenced by the people who purchased live tickets, they were Mosley supporters. If you paired Mayweather with Clottey I wonder what the numbers would have been? My guess is less than 700,000K with about half the venue empty.
