The good thing is the contract hasnt been signed and if Arum doesnt deliver the fight then Cotto is gone.Arum will have to choose.
    That is an excellent point

Greed is ruining boxing ,Pacman is getting the lion share if he wants a title fight pay the fees ,Belts are only valuable when your coming up the ranks to be the best and when your retiring to seal your legacy in between you want to earn as much and a brand name guy like Cotto does not need a belt to full MSG.

Don't lay it on so-called cotto stans only. If you check the posts, betting lines etc.. of many of the people who are saying that Cotto is in the right, many are not only not Cotto fans but they believe Pac will win. This is beyond just Cotto vs. Pac.

is there any rule that you should weight 147lbs for it to be considered as a title fight in the welterweight division?

Pac weighed in at 138 last time against Hatton....catchweight is at 145..Pac is moving up 7 lbs.
Cotto weighed in at 146 against Clottey... catchweight is at 145 ..Cotto is moving down errrrrr ONE ****IN POUND!!! Get real.
And you know damn well he'll redydrate back up to 160 come fight night.

Bhop and Oscar met at 156 for a Middleweight unification.
Sweet Pea and Chavez met at 145 for Welter Championship.
Why can't Cotto do the same?

You never take an advice, as usual you're again getting emotional on irrelevant issues. Now, you're on your own and make an ass of yourself with your dumb reasoning.

In all fairness I do believe in catch weight when the top fighters are gonna face each other to make the fight possible and make it fair for both parties. But to fight for the WW title and make the other fighter fight below the limit is not a fair proposition. Anything between from above 140 lbs and to 147 is welter but as a challenger to make the other guy to come below the limit for the title doesn't seem right to me (unless the other fighter agrees to that type of contract). If Manny beats Cotto allowing him to come at the limit for the belt will be his greatest win with no questions about weight or all the other non-sense issue that have been developing for this fight.

                  i agree with you.

pacman is not the only boxer who fighting under a catchweight agreement
and not the only boxer whos asking for a title fight even if it falls under a catchweight agreement
