If Cotto wins the title remains vacant and a mandatory between whatever two scrubs the WBO think are worthy is put up for a bid. This way everybody wins. Any problems with that?
first, i have no problem with it. obviously 2 lbs is worth more to some people than fame, fortune, and FUTURE. it's above and beyond the obvious if cotto beats PAC then he becomes the FACE. is 2lbs real worth his pride?

question 2) if he loses to pac in a non-title match. does he really care what the title means for him. he cares less about it right now. so wtf.

he did earn it in a well fought match which definitely could have went to clottey. so i can't hate on him for wanting it but it's not worth the millions and the potential that does not come with the title and leaving the pac fight.

that's why he's a boxer and not in any business field. he can't weigh the pros and cons properly. his fans are displaying the same thing.

And its not like the organizations are helping set up the best fights, if anything they make these fights much, much harder to make. Or are you defending their actions. Be a man and step up with a clear opinion instead of relying on the same ol' tired posts.
AFAIK it was the WBA who has that SUPER champ(like margarito before) and Champ in recess(Ruslan Chagaev) not WBO right?

Not a big fan of Cotto, but this is crazy what the WBO is doing to him. Paquio wants to be a legend with the most titles but all he is doing is winning them the pusycheating way. He needs to man up and go to 147 and claim the title the right way if he wins.
Stand your ground Cotto, or throw that belt at Roach and Pac so they can go back to their dirt hole to be praised...

Be a man? You need to ask that question to all nuthuggers and of course you included to stop meddling on irrelevant issue for a boxing fan. The rule that WBO is trying to impose is an old rule that a division champion needs to adhere. The sanctioning fees are as old as the organizations itself weather it's WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO... etc. WBO cannot bend the rule just because your idol is too cheap to pay for it.

As a boxing fan you need to appreciate that both fighters are willing to face each other to give us good entertainment but bitching, crying, moaning and getting emotional about how much a fighter are paying for taxes and sanctioning fees are not your ****ing business. Elite fighters like Cotto hired lawyers who are capable to tackle those issues.

          Get a freaking life

            is catchweight a pusycheating?
is asking for a title fight is pusycheating?

AFAIK 145lbs is INSIDE the welterweight limit right? the President of the WBO already said that "if a fight is inside the welterweight limit, then it has to be for the title."

Y'know something, I reckon that's exactly what he should do! Enough of this Mr. Nice Guy stuff who never chats ****. We need to see a pissed off Cotto who won't stand for all this stuff, and actually throws some much-deserved insults around. I want to see him **** on both Roach and Pac with some harsh words. That'll make the whole thing even bigger, because it'll become aaaahhhh pelsonar.

The one who start bitching is Pac because all the sudden he said he want the title. Is not about being sheap Arum said that he would pay is about to make up your mind before you make an agreement. Pac has to step up as P4P king an let Cotto fight at 147.Sanctions fees at WW is from 141 to 147 not 141 to 145

That's very true. My mistake. But in my opinion they are all corrupt to some degree or other. Being the least worst is not an accomplishment.

PS: Just to underline the point about the WBA check this out from Rafael:
Besides the 17 titleholders, the laughable WBA also has:

                    • Four super champions (Shane Mosley at welterweight, Juan Manuel Marquez at lightweight, Celestino Caballero at junior featherweight and Vic Darchinyan at junior bantamweight).

                    • Four interim titleholders (Marcos Maidana at junior welterweight, Yuriorkis Gamboa at featherweight, Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym at junior featherweight and Nehomar Cermeño at bantamweight).

                    • Two champions in recess (heavyweight Ruslan Chagaev and junior flyweight Brahim Asloum).

The junior featherweight division actually has three titleholders, with Caballero and Poonsawat joining "regular" titleholder Bernard Dunne.

So that's 27 fighters in 17 divisions who parade around with WBA belts. Sadly, that isn't the end of the utter madness -- because the more so-called champions, the better. Actually, the more so-called champions, the more money that flows into the WBA's greedy hands because too many promoters, fighters and managers are too dumb to see what a racket this is. And shame on the networ
