That's a horrible example. You're not doing that here at all. You're asking us to judge him by a weight class. A better comparison would have been to say what weight class would you judge Roy Jones by, 160, 168, 175 or heavyweight. Silly, isn't it?

if floyd would of fought the best at welterweight. i dont think anybody would disagree is the best welterweight. how come nobody argues about him being great at 130 and 135. would that be because he took out the best?

2006: the top 2 welterweights were Zab and Baldomir floyd beat them both..!
2007: Floyd was the top welterweight with the ring belt...everybody else was #2

Any, ya know. Not even 2, if he fought Cotto after beating Hatton, he probably would have beaten Cotto. After beating Cotto, who had just beat Mosley, the only other feasible opponent, I don't think anyone would have had an issue. I think he had to take on the best Welterweight in the world, next to himself. I mean, say what you will, but Cotto was such a worthy challenger after he beat Mosley and Floyd beat Hatton. It couldn't have been set up any better.

I'm saying at that point in time, he was the most worthy challenger. Next to Floyd he was the CLEAR number 1. So why not tie up your Welterweight reign against the next best in your division when you're both coming off of HUGE wins.

Handing Cotto his first L coming off of that win over Mosley would have been huge for Floyd's Welterweight resume. You know that, your personal opinion on Cotto aside. The general consensus was that that fight should have been made and it would have been a HUGE win for Floyd.

too me that is very subjective...but if floyd would have done it cool... but he didnt and too me it doesnt mean that much because who is cotto? at the end of the day..Cotoo is on the cusp of greatness...he is not great... but I will concede a win over cotto would have shut the critics up more..then not having the win over cotto...

but to me Shane Mosely is the fighter who floyd should have fought IMO..but Mosely turn it down in his prime
