Joes face was inches away from Roys hands while Joes hands were at his sides.
A little tidbit you're leaving out,
Joe wasn't in his prime last night either.
Prime for prime its a very close fight and I'd give Roy a very slight edge based on having problems with southpaws who can box.
There is a reason why Jones chose not to fight Calzaghe earlier.
and that proves how much Jones had slowed down the fact that Calzaghe was able to do that im sure you would not expect him to get away with that against a PRIME Jones ?
Joe was'nt in his prime well compared to Jones he was Jones was finished in 2004 it happens to be 2008 now
do me a favour Jones could of fought about 5 other guys that would of been considered a more dangerous oponent for him to face

There's got to be some reason Roy never fought Calzaghe before last night. I never heard Roy calling Joe out, or ridiculing Joe for dodging him, or other such b.s. Never. I suspect the fight could have been made had Roy wanted to go to Britain to fight. Roy was the big star, and the money draw. This leads me to conclude that Roy didn't want to risk his reputation and record on a fight with Calzaghe. That tells me alot.

So Joe called out a Prime Roy Jones Jr. and delivered papers to try to get a fight made in America?
ROY WAS NOT GOING TO BRITAIN.
What it does tell me about Joe is that he was willing to fight a 43 year old Hopkins and a SHOT Roy Jones Jr and feels he fought them at their best...saying how he beat two "legends." No Joe, you beat the names...no telling how you would have done Prime vs. Prime.

Calzaghe is not an unconventional fighter who relied on reflexes their is a reason Hopkins is the better OLD FIGHTER than Jones
there is probably a reason he never fought Eubank,Benn etc etc but it dont mean he avoided them cause he could not beat them does it ?

Based on what? You do realize that Joe would be in his prime as well don't you?
If this fight happens 7-10 years ago, Joe gains some speed and his reflexes as well.
But what are you basing a Jones victory on, the knockdown in the first round?
Well, based on your comments, I know it couldn't be that.
The difference between Joe now and Joe 7 years ago vs. Jones now and Jones 7 years ago is not even worth comparing, Jones has fallen off a cliff and everyone knows it. Joe has not, hence his ass-kicking of Jones but that doesn't prove anything about a Prime-for-Prime fight.
Round 3 could not have existed a decade ago, Jones could actually throw left hooks back then and had ten times the speed and power.

There is more to boxing than america.
You guys need to realize that.
Roy and many other high profile american boxers never fighting outside the states says quite a bit about their confidence in their abilities.

Oh, I get it, only Roy Jones is allowed to be better in his mid to late 20s.
Makes all the sense in the world now.
