Makes all the sense in the world now.
Are you denying that Roy Jones has declined more than Joe Calzaghe?

there is probably a reason he never fought Eubank,Benn etc etc but it dont mean he avoided them cause he could not beat them does it ?

What kind of **** is this?

ALL fighters rely on their reflexes.

Some choose to develop actual technique to go along with natural abilities.

Roy didn't, and it cost him later in his career.

Did I say as much or are you simply assuming?

The fact of the matter remains, Joe Calzaghe has slowed down as well when it comes to speed and reflexes.

Prime for prime, its a close fight whether you want to admit it or not.

The difference between Joe now and Joe 7 years ago vs. Jones now and Jones 7 years ago is not even worth comparing, Jones has fallen off a cliff and everyone knows it. Joe has not, hence his ass-kicking of Jones but that doesn't prove anything about a Prime-for-Prime fight.

Round 3 could not have existed a decade ago, Jones could actually throw left hooks back then and had ten times the speed and power.
I've never seen a Calzaghe opponent that wasn't confused. Confused fighters tend to lock up and become uncertain. Roy did the same thing. I doubt youth would have alleviated this condition.

            Nope.

Btw, I've never said Roy wasn't a great fighter.

            Not a single time.
            So what's your point exactly?

You have also never seen a Calzaghe opponent close to the ability of a prime Roy Jones, Jr. I had never seen James Toney and Hopkins look ****** until Roy Jones make them look like club fighters, either.

He's confused now because he can't throw a left hook or combination and couldn't hurt Calzaghe anymore. If that 3rd round happened in Jones's prime, he would pop a few punches and Calzaghe would have to raise his hands or be knocked down. I would say youth definitely would have alleviated that condition.

                  Calzaghe dominated this fight.
Jones isn't so much shot to be dominated by a total slouch.
Few years ago, this would be more competitive fight... And Calzaghe would still win.
Not so one sided, but would still win.

No. It's not the same thing at all. First of all Calzaghe is only 3 years younger than Jones. So now you have to consider the issue as to whether or not longevity is an element of true greatness. Surely it is, and Calzaghe wins again. However, if you're disposed to disagree, then one is forced to consider how a prime Calzaghe would have handled a prime Roy. There is absolutely no reason to think that Calzaghe, who in his prime was a lightening fast mongoose of a fighter, could not just as easily have disposed of a prime Roy Jones, Jr. IN the end, "styles make fights." And, Roy simply could not handle Calzaghe's style. NOBODY ever has.
Actually watching Jones in his prime would be enough of a reason.

"Disposing of a prime Roy Jones Jr." might be the dumbest thing I ever read in a boxing discussion.
