You kids are dreaming if you think he has anything left.
Same as Iron Mike he will lose and look bad.

You have to remember that both the British man and the great American fighter are past their best and both of them are in their late thirties.

I have a horrible feeling RJJ is going to beat Calzaghe , Although I had the same feeling when Calzaghe fought Kessler and we seen what happened there

Yes you also have to remember one of them got brutally KO'ed twice by no more than decent fighters.
You also have to remember one of them has been fighting regularly top level competition whereas the other has been fighting ONCE a year against 2 nobodies and a NEVER ACCOMPLISHED anything higher than 160 blown up welter who was shot himself.

        Get the picture?

Roy's token wins over no-names and has beens just don't prove anything except that Roy has been running scared for 3 years.
Calzaghe offers the last Big payday even if he loses.

Jones fans remind me of Tyson fans who always fantasised that Mike would come good again.

But it isn't going to happen.

          Imo

I get the sense that the Calzaghe fans are getting nervous about this fight all of a sudden.....I will agree and say Jones has looked reluctant to throw a lot of punches in last fights, while Joe is known to throw a million, but Jones knows his chin was tested and is breakable and is tentative all the time. NOW saying that, Joe Calzaghe has little to NO KO power. Jones i'm sure knows that. Will he be scared of someone that cant harm his glass chin? No... So I think Jones will be aggressive and throw a lot of punches because he knows nothing POWERFUL will come in return, just a lot of "pitty pate punches" that are points towards winning the round. I think the Cal fans are catching on and realizing this and are nervous of Jones coming in there and being really aggressive and countering anytime Joe attempts to flurry. I don't think we will see Jones of the 90's but we will see a Jones that can take Joe's best punch and not be afraid of being KO'ed.... Like he was in Tarver 3... Jones was just happy to go all 12 for once... RJJ confidence is probably pretty high. I think he knows what he must do and knows he can do it.

I think Roy Jones jr lost motivation, and looks at Joe Calzaghe as redemption. I think wants this fight, just as Tarver (the one hit wonder) wanted him. Every man has his day and September 20th is his. His whole career will pretty much come down to this fight. He sees a Joe Calzaghe that no one has beat, he sees a Joe Calzaghe that has just beat Bernard Hopkins who just beat Tarver. This is Roy's moment to prove greatness, this is behind the scenes of Roy Jones Jr in the making of G.O.A.T. When its all said and done he will make a JOE CALZAGHE REMIX to "YA'LL MUSTA FORGOT"!!!

This of course will all depend on which Roy comes to the fight. We know how Joe will come, prepared and ready to go all 12 rounds throwing many combinations non stop to JUST win a 12 UD or Split. If a Highly motivated Jones that can move and counter all night comes we will have us a fight. If the Jones that shows us a shell of his former self comes to the fight, than we have a 12 round UD in the bag for Joe. IMO I don't think Calzaghe is expecting to much from Jones and I believe we will see a shocked Joe on the night of September 20th 2008. I think Joe Calzaghe is going to bring out the best in Roy Jones Jr. We are surely in for a treat if that is the case.

I think the Joe fans are realizing this and are nervous of a motivated jones coming to take the best of Joe's punches and counter all night without having any doubts of being KO'ed. I think that is his weakness. With Joe, there is nothing to be afraid of.....According to Peter Manfredo who laughed at his "pitty pat punches", kessler 12 UD not KO'ed, Hop who got hit all of 250 times and laughed at him when he got the victory. I mean an OLD MAN laughing at your punches???? lol

I stopped reading after this NONSENSE statement.
If Joe hits Roy flush then Roy will sleep.

Regarding whether or not he is "past it" or whatever, of course he is not quite in his prime any more because, like the unbeaten British World Champion Joe Calzaghe he is in his late thirties.

However, if I was a betting man I am afraid I would simply have to back Roy Jones Jr. to win this fight. He is a class above Joe.
Thank you for shedding some light on the British fans. I think Joe is phenomenal, but he is no Rjj.

Why would that be so bad. There is no shame in losing to the p4p #1 fighter of the 90's and early 00's. Your feeling is the same as mine. I've felt it since before the B-hop fight and feel it even more now. It's just a bad style matchup for Joe. I think jones is the worst match he could have signed. Tarver would have been a cake walk for Calzaghe. Pavlik could have gone either way. But Jones is a style nightmare waiting to happen.
