Roy Jones Jr: "I Will Beat Joe Calzaghe in New York"

Roy Jones Jr. has a lot of respect for Joe Calzaghe, but he plans to throw their friendship out the window once the bell rings on September 20 in New York's Madison Square Garden. The two fighters are co-promoting the HBO pay-per-view with their own promotional banners, Square Ring and Joe Calzaghe Enterprises. [details]

Jones is a great fighter. Im actually more worried about this fight than if Joe was fighting Pavlik. Style-wise, Pavlik is made for Joe. Bit more awkward fighting Jones. Cant see Jones KOing Calzaghe if he couldnt KO Trinidad. Close decision for Joe i think.

            Calzaghe will moida da bum

Calzaghe ko's da bum in 4, that many if Roy's lucky. I told you guys about Hopkins and you didn't listen. Jones will be retiring after this. Another one of those sad fights that must be done in boxing from time to time to prove a point. Tyson-Holmes, Holmes-Ali, Robinson-Armstrong

I see Roy not all on joe's nuts like joe is his. I hope they don't treat this fight like a glorified sparring session. If they don't I think Roy can win this. he hands still looked real fast against trinidad and he has to still have more power than old slapper.

                just win and retire roy........

roy's greatness ranking was sealed more than a decade a go.

a win over joe will be icing on the cake......

and at least he won't be beat up too much even if joe wins......

Calzaghe has a better KO ratio.

                    ko ratio don't mean anything.

it's an interesting statistic but it doesn't tell the whole story.

joe doesn't have the power he used to because of his hand injuries.
