Very good point you make. In his recent fights Roy has been starting very slowly. If he does this against Joe he could be out of the fight on the cards before he gets into it.

I pick calzaghe by UD. Joe doesn't have the power to KO a old women let alone roy jones jnr. Also, jones struggled with tarver - who was also a slick south-paw just like calzaghe. I think roys biggest problem will be dealing with joes style!

Joe and Tarver are very different southpaws. I agree that Roy will struggle with Joe's style but I don't think it will have anything to do with Joe being a southpaw.

I think it's a shame Roy has to justify him self at a top fighter still, just because he's not what he was doesn't make him totally shot. A lot of fighters at the top level are past they're prime at the moment.

I agree on the earlier rounds, Joe is often sussing the opponent around here and Roy needs to capitalise, which I think he will to whatever degree. But I still see a Joe UD, and hope Roy gets the respect and recognition for fighting a good fighter, better than many expected to both guys credit.

On the friendship tip, Calzaghe's fought pals before like Richie Woodhall, today a very good friend. I think it's cool, but can see Roy doing pyschologically better out of it, and Joe paying too much respect, he'll be forced to get stuck in I reckon.

Yeah I don't know about this fight. Up until now I have given Roy no shot, but today Ree**** told me I had no idea so I am about to watch Roy-Tito for the 68th time to see if I can find anything different. The workrate is still the crucial difference to me. That, combined with Joe's ability to take solid shots should just see him outwork Roy I think.

Tarver is a 6'3 south paw with a probing jab who got into Roy's head. Calzaghe according to boxrec is 5'11 and he doesn't fight like Tarver. Plus he doesn't have Roy psyched out like Tarver did.

Yeah, not at all. Joe fights like Tarver like I fight like prime Roy.

I think Reeds firm but fair, and is very right when he says treat Roy as a fairly new guy on the block. On a blank canvass style and kill wise, you'll be way more impressed.

I agree to an extent on the area's Joe's likely to win. But that almost underlines Roy as decent, because Joe generally beats most ppl on work rate and his helped by his solid chin.

Don't bother watching Roy vs Trinidad. Roy based on that performance hasn't got a hope but apparently he torn his muscle in his right for that fight so you never know. . .
