Floyd Mayweather Jr. Speaks, Blasts "Racist" HBO

Him throwing money around has everything with how people percieve him. People love Pacquiao and Pavlik for the same reasons they did Hagler and hearns. They can relate to somebody who doesn't talk about themselves, their money and their bling all the time, but goes in there and just does the job. They can relate to someone who is supremwly confident, but not arrogant. As far as you doubting he would have made it to the HOF had he not won 5 titles in 5 divisions.......thats a load of crap. floyds talent and what he accomplished just at 130 ensure his induction. People don't like him because he acts like a jerkoff. But no objective boxing fan doubts his talent or accomplishments.

the problem with mayweather is no one likes him beacuse he talks
alot but doesn't really back it up (running in the ring than fighting)
he is obviously jealous of pacman and pavlik . the main reason
people like these two fighters is :

they let their fists talk ..... (they dont promise to ko someone then run)
they are basically nice guys not irritating whiners .. lol

I think its a shame that people cant apreciate Mayweather fighting-style cause its close to perfect. He put a clinic on Hatton in his last fight and even knocked him out, perfect performace. Hes verry skilled and fast but people somehow cant apreciate it. But the main reason for Mayweather not getting respected is his personality i think. Hes just a litle prick and most people dont like that. But as a fighter, a boxer hes a masterpiece and deserves much of respect. Hes not one of these mexican fighter who doesnt care if they get knocked out or brain damaged, hes a smart guy. Most people want brutal wars but what Mayweather does, thats the complete art of boxing, defensive as well as offensive its just great to see him fight but like i said most people dont like him cause they dont apreciate the way he fights and because his personality. I dont like him as a person as well but as a fighter he has my respect.

"Even a guy like Jim Lampley, he praises Kelly Pavlik -- who has won some good fights, he beat Jermain Taylor twice, we have to give him credit for that -- but they talk about Kelly Pavlik, a white fighter, like he's the second coming Or they go crazy over Manny Pacquiao. But I'm a black fighter," Mayweather said. "Is it racial? Absolutely. They praise white fighters, they praise Hispanic fighters, whatever. But black fighters, they never praise.

"I've noticed it for a long time but I couldn't say anything because I had to do business with them. I'll still do business with them, but I'm done holding my tongue. I think HBO is great. But their announcers are full of (expletive)."


Mayweather criticized the network's announcers for a bias against black fighters, and for not treating their own indiscretions as seriously as those committed by people they cover, during an exclusive interview with The Press.

"Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant, Emanuel Steward, they're always talking about the negative things in my life," Mayweather said. "But I've seen Jim Lampley in the same strip club as me before. They always want to talk about me going to strip clubs, but they don't want to talk about that.

"He caught a court case himself, too. But when they catch a case, all they do is take them off the air a couple weeks, then it's over."

Jim Lamely and Larry Merchant have called the fights for almost all of Floyd Career..

And They have had their moments, where you can say, they are being to overly critical, and they also had they moments were they give Floyd his respect..

The Problem they have is, They are not balance in their Announcement.

The Hatton fight for example..:

All of them said BEFORE THE FIGHT (On fight night),

• "My heart is for Hatton.."
• but my head says "Mayweather"

What Fair Minded Announcers would say that, right before the fight..
and

you could see they felt that way because during 2/3 of the fight they were making every excuse they could into why Mayweather Could Lose the fight...

They even had Hatton winning 5 Rounds, Some rounds where Mayweather Landed twice as Many Punches then Hatton landed, but they gave the round to Hatton..

Not until the 8th Round when Mayweather show that the knock out was coming did they start saying that Hatton is bring the best out of Mayweather...That's the Problem.... THE HBO crew have no Balance...

Thats the Problem Mayweather Has with them...

Pacquiao and Hatton have massive followings because they are humble guys who the fans can relate to. Neither brag about their wealth, or project any sort of arrogance - they also happen to have much more aggressive, attacking styles. As for HBO racism, it's a laughable accusation, Floyd needs to get more media savvy if he wants to be their golden boy. Most of all, he needs to get over himself.
