I don't mean any disrespect but at 10% annual return on his investments, he would have needed 150 million, 20 years ago, to get to a billion by the end of the year. Maybe he means that by the end of the year, he'll have made investments to ensure that his estate is worth a billion in the distant future.

It looks to me like he's trying to create the notion of scarcity to increase demand for him coming back, that he doesn't need the money and that it needs to be worth it to him. But then he did name a price so, I guess it's a sort of conditional retirement but that he'll only fight if the price is right.

The other thing is this kind of inflamatory injection of racism. Yeah I agree they didn't really like him, I understand where he felt disrespected. But this reaching for this blanket charge of racism against all the announcers. Floyd is not this ****ing nuts, I think he's just sticking it to them and at the same time trying to incite, to keep up his marketing ploy of being the guy that everyone wants to see take a loss. Hell he even said so much.

      Floyd is an odd dude.
Lamp acts like he wants to make out with Roy half the time.
Larry sounds like he has a shrine in his house for Joe Louis.
Every guest anouncer has been a black man since HBO boxing has been on the air SRL,GF,RJJ,Manny.

A lot of the stuff he goes on about may have some truth to it or at least seem as if but this one is just cry baby-ish.

I dont like Floyd cause of his mouth but hes a great fighter.

But this interview hes sounding like a lil *****, talking about Lampley going to strip clubs, he sounds like Kobe when he snitched on Shaq.

And the billion dollar thing, damn he really doesnt have any class.

You never hear Oscar talking about how much money he has cause he has class. Im sorry but Oscar made around 10 million more on the fight they had and thats not counting how much he got by promoting the fight.

Also when Floyd fought Hatton the guy that made bank was Golden Boy Promotions.

Oscar was the 2nd highest paid athlete last year and only fought once lol and thats not counting how much he got from his promotional company.

He also talks about how he has his investments, which ones? Philthy Rich Records is surely picking up right? and also Mayweather Promotions has made huge signings haha

He is right, they never say good things about Mayweather and Hopkins. Even when Roy Jones was HBO's star, the announce team always said things to downplay accomplishments like "Roy Jones doesnt take risks, he only beats people he knows he can beat"

            Does that make them racists?

Ur, crazy. Im damn tired of hearing how great Jermain Taylor, Calvin Brock and Andre Berto were.

Also Lennox Lewis was the greatest p4p all time.

Roy Jones didnt fight anybody for the longest time and Floyd did the same. Floyd would talk all this crap how he would KO Oscar and then he said he wanted to give him a boxing lesson

I don't think their racist, most of their criticism of Mayweather or Jones are also shared by a lot of fans.

Whitaker was considered pound for pound number 1 in the early 90's, he wasn't criticised nearly as much as Jones or Mayweather.

le me clear up what I meant.......I meant they hate black fighters with big mouths, they are seen as stereotypes, exactly like Ali was in his time. They were real biased for Taylor to beat Hopkins, because Taylor is quiet and Hopkins is a loudmouth, they were calling Taylor a kid but he was 27 years old.

And I agree that Pavlik and Pacman are the most crowd pleasing fighters and they get rightfully praised for that, but they also have all this sucking off for their personal lives, which has nothing at all to do with the sport. Prince Naseem was a straight up **** but HBO loved him. White fighters that talk like Floyd like Hatton and Pazienza are seen as people persons. Roy Jones cleaned out his division at the time, his win as Ruiz was downplayed because he wouldnt fight Lennox Lewis, who was like 40 pounds bigger. I am a Klitschko fan but his style is not crowd pleasing and HBO cant stop praising him. I cant go out and call them racists, but at the very least they are biased.

Well Hopkins does /says everything he can for them not to like him + he has a some what "boring style".
True with Roy but that whole topic is old and played out anyway.

They do play the race card as far as promotional reasons go.
I'll give him that, but you have to look at the fact that there is really only a small amout of good near champion caliber white boxers at the moment.

So of course they are going to give a lot of air time to the next 'white hope'.
                    I don't think it's racist, it's just business.

The other part of it is the fact that those low weight classes are packed with high action fighters which draw viewers that may not be the hardcore type of fan that wants to sit and watch 12 rounds of chess.
