I said some of the comments didn't sit all that well with me, but I can see why he'd think it's partly down to racism.

Nothing ever stinks of racism. Racism can be more subtle than that. You get actor Charlie Sheen calling his wife a ****** and then getting caught out. Nothing he'd ever have said to his friend Todd would have stunk of racism. Or dog the bounty killer caught on tape calling his son a ****** lover. Nobody would know these prominant figures hold these thoughts and feelings. Anway I digress. I agree with the bloke, and I'll leave it there on the racism issue.

For me personally, I don't care if he throws money around. That's not a reason in my eyes to get resentful of someone's wealth, and how he chooses to spend it, but you know to each his own, go play the lottery and hope and pray for the numbers to come up.

It's covered extensively why he's unpopular anyway. It's covered every day on Boxingscene. Every day. None of that takes away my opinion that he attracts a particular type of hatred and disrespect.

But I think The HBO Announcement team, Are Pretty Fair except for Manny Steward. Manny Steward is MAYWEATHER's most Bias commentator and Critic .... Period...


Jim Lamely and Larry Merchant have called the fights for almost all of Floyd Career..

And They have had their moments, where you can say, they are being to overly critical, and they also had they moments were they give Floyd his respect..

The Problem they have is, They are not balance in their Announcement.

The Hatton fight for example..:

All of them said BEFORE THE FIGHT (On fight night),

• "My heart is for Hatton.."
• but my head says "Mayweather"

What Fair Minded Announcers would say that, right before the fight..
and

you could see they felt that way because during 2/3 of the fight they were making every excuse they could into why Mayweather Could Lose the fight...

They even had Hatton winning 5 Rounds, Some rounds where Mayweather Landed More Punches then Hatton Threw, but they gave the round to Hatton..

Not until the 8th Round when Mayweather show that the knock out was coming did they start saying that Hatton is bring the best out of Mayweather...That's the Problem.... THE HBO crew have no Balance...

Thats the Problem Mayweather Has with them...

I agree about Lampley giving him credit and perhaps being more impartial but I found that Larry always find a way to get a dig in. He's more grudging. It's true, Manny has a particular dislike for Floyd, he can't conceal it.

Damn right they probably want him to lose. Which he would have done against Cotto. Hell, I want him to lose too because of his ***** personality. He is a poor example of how a sports role model should carry himself. See Wlad Klitschko or Kelly Pavlik to see how a role model should act. Hell , see Roy Jones or Mosley for that matter. By the way, Lederman posts his scores and not the commentators. BTW, there were no rounds where Floyd landed more punches than Hatton threw. If you had really been paying attention and had some cuth, you would have kept that to yourself.

I can see where Floyd is coming from about Merchant but definately not about Lampley.

I've seen all of Floyd's fights and I don't recall Jim Lampley ever talking bad about Mayweather. He is usually praising him or defending him to Merchant. I don't know how many times I've heard him brag about the times Mayweather had overheard the announce team while he was fighting and responded to him in mid fight.

Floyd is missing the limelight of boxing because it is the only talent he has... I guess being a C list celebrity just doesn't cut it.
