Tony had no belt, no name, and was coming off a loss. Exactly what was TM bringing to the table again?? Mexicans are some beggin' ass people. Sin orgullo.

Dontcha think that HBO would do a Cotto/margarito 24/7 if they think it would bring in tens of millions more?? That is just common sense.
The reason that certain guys don't get the full Countdown or 24/7 treatment is because the additional production and marketing expense would not be recouped.

What's your point? Are you belitting Floyd in some kind of way??? lol. In what way is that? Without 24/7, he can't do big numbers. You see, HBO doesn't just put anyone in those 24/7 series. You had to have done something right lol.
So only DLH, Mayweather and Hatton are doing something right in the sport of boxing?
You can take Hatton out of the equation. It isn't about doing something right.

Your last statement is just ridiculous because 24/7 has only been done 2 times. Its an entirely new venture. To merely speculate that monies wouldn't be recouped is just not taking a chance, not a fact. HBO doesn't promote the sport, it promotes fighters. Just like David Stern and the NBA. They market a person rather than the sport as a whole and in the end suffer more because of it. Who took over as Jordans successor? Nobody. Who is going to take over as DLHs successor? Probably nobody. Instead of using DLHs name as a tool for the sport, they used his name as a tool to simply make money.
If HBO had any sense, they would realize what a 24/7 would do for Margarito Cotto. 2 action fighters, Mexican-Puerto Rican rivalry and you're going to tell me thats not good enough to give the sport a boost?

they praised the hell outta floyd when he was at lw, it was only recently they began hating on floyd like around the time of the baldomir fight. i dont think they like him cause of who hes fought and the way he fights, also his ****iness and arrogance
we shouldnt forget they treated JT like the next big thing until he lost to pavlik. once pavlik won that role was given to him as he was the undefeated, exciting fighter

Tony goes and loses and ends up fighting on undercatrds, including HBO's lowest rated show of all time.
Implicit in "you'll get a shot" is 'you have to keep winning". I don't think Hatton currently feels pressure to fight Witter.
Is that fair?
