- -Any sentient boxing fan reading the sports sections of the day who had been following their careers knew Tyson was ripe for an upset, but the way it played out with Douglas receiving the Tunney long count and Mike's team clearly at grade school level was a new revelation.

It would have been a massacre! Marciano openly ducked Sonny Liston, who chased him around the world looking for the fight. Everyone knows that Sonny was a mean SOB. Mike Tyson would've made Rocky Marciano piss himself! Realistically, Mike was too fast, too strong, and his defense was underrated. At 185lbs, Rocky is too small to keep Tyson off of him. Tyson by KO3.

Don't think Liston was even a ranked contender when Matciano quit. He fought the number one contender in 1955 (Moore) and then retired.

Liston doesn't appear in the Ring Rankings until 1958 (as 9th) likely based on his 1957 outings.

I'd favor Tyson every day of the week. But I seriously doubt he stops Marciano as quickly as Frazier. It give Rocky 3 rounds, 4 max.
