I think so too. Holyfield's excellent performance in the Lewis return match when desperately post prime (aged 37!), convinced me that if any version of him between Buster Douglas and the first Moorer fight turned up, he'd simply be too fit, too fast and too lively for Lewis.

A difficult fight prime for prime, no doubt. But my money would be on the Real Deal......

I will disagree there. If we're intent on talking about versions, it has to be said that Lewis was more complacent in the rematch for whatever reason and that a prime version of the Real Deal is Evander Holyfield, not Evan Fields. So that means less strength and power, which is what he used in the rematch to bum rush Lewis many times to try and steal rounds(Still can't give him more than 3 or 4 rounds though imo). Maybe a young, less polished Lewis who was more eager to brawl VS Evan Fields, then I would no longer favor him.

I agree. At the time Holyfield was past his best too.

I gather that he upset animal lovers by confessing that he once punched his misbehaving horse........

I didn't come across the subject of PED use being approached on the show. I don't doubt that he'd have been well rehearsed by his agent on how to respond (whether he was completely clean or not).

But I'd prefer to think that his training was natural and above board. The guy was a true legend of the ring.
Think you may have seen a bit more than I did then.. Missed his eviction, but I knew it was coming, and very true, the ped subject wasn't even touched upon..
Had I been 'Big Brother' so to speak, I'd have considered introducing someone who's either been done for, or accused of using peds... Or just somebody who's used them.. Certain actors have used them often to bulk up for tough guy parts...
But all su****ions aside, as a fighter, he's an atg in my book too

            inside the ring 100%

outside the ring not so much.

having all these kids and not taking care of them, not even acknowledging that they are his. bashing gays and ******s while on his high horse preaching about gods love.. such a hypocrite.

            great fighter, horrible person.

Whether he used PEDs or not at any point in his career is open to debate. But my eyes don't deceive me. The Holyfield who met Douglas, Bowe (1&2), Foreman and Holmes was vastly superior to the Holyfield of 1999. Faster hands, faster feet, better reflexes, superior stamina and workrate, blinding combinations. He may have been a touch heavier and slightly heavier handed into his late 30s.......but I'm positive that the 30 year old Holyfield beats the Lewis of fight 1 or 2.

Lennox's prime is hard to pinpoint. I'd probably go with 1997 (around the Golota fight). 1992 Holyfield vs 1997 Lewis is a great fight. I think I'd edge Holyfield by decision......

Ha ha, I'm not a reality TV fan at all, but when my wife pointed out that Evander was taking part I wasn't missing a second of the broadcasts.

To be honest many people do use anabolic steroids. I have friends/bodybuilders/gym buddies who have/are taking them.......I gather it isn't illegal unless you are competing (but its not a subject I have researched too well). If they want to shrink their ball sacks and mess with their hormone balances they're quite welcome to them!!

I would honestly be very surprised to hear that Holyfield 'knowingly' injected anabolic steroids. But I'd be open to the suggestion that he allowed his own ignorance to what his fitness coaches/dieticians might have been pumping into him.

As I've said before testosterone and HGH are naturally occurring in the body. An articulate administrator might well have been able to blag Holyfield into using these without him feeling any remorse or guilt......and I think that might be key.

I think 1Assassin has given a great insight as to Evander's conscience..
Think if he can deny his offspring, he can deny anything..

I think you're going a bit overboard with the 'versions', respectfully.

Wow could it be Holyfield is really the best of our era and not Lewis?
