I looked it up. Ray stood up as best man at Lamotta's 6th wedding.

He claimed that Robinson had " no defense, a poor jab, throws terrible punches that are too wide, and leaves himself off-balance." He claimed that Leonard would be able to easily beat Robinson, because of his superior hand speed and better "form" even once claimng that Robinson defense consisted of "blocking punches with his head"
When I made my rebuttal and asking what he meant by "form" he said

" By form, I'm referring to Leonard's textbook punches, instead of the wide, off-balance, amateurish shots Robinson takes. Robinson could never hit Leonard with those shots, and would get killed with counter punches".

oh btw he also claimed that Lamotta was a lousy fighter and would be easily beaten by Leonard and get "killed in the 70's"

So are we all deluded? cause the Robinson he was talking about didn't seem to be the same Robinson I know. I thought he was overblowing Robinsons faults and exaggerating Leonards skills, but it did get me thinking.

          Any thoughts?
Lol Jake Lamotta was a lousy fighter. You see little casuals watch that move Raging Bull and now think Lamotta was anything more than a D level fighter who was controlled by the Mafia. Also like I typed in another thread Sugar Ray Robinson looked good fighting slow white fighters from his era. He avoided tons of top level black guys. If Robinson had to fight in a era like let's say the 80's or 90's. Numerous welterweights and middleweights would of beat him.

Robby was one of a kind. He was denied a shot at the World lightweight title. Can you imagine if he got that opportunity? AND everything that came thereafter! Hot damn!

                    Easily?

                    Physically we've advanced.

                    Would Marciano just lay down?

Would Robinson forget how to throw a jab while feinting his man and walking the ring?.

                    ..............Rockin'

we have regressed yet its been multiple vids since 70s that shown with each era it became way more advanced, like shutup lying you crazy person,im not the one to lie to or say nonsense to on here look me up, i'm a legend for exposing crazy people like you,im the one they never have or will have video to prove me wrong,no one made pro fighting like those guys in 70s-90s cause they were obsolete and you have no proof to say im wrong cause its a fact, being sarcastic doesn't work on me either all you're doing is exposing yourself
